27.June - Friday
Next day, they started their new regimen rather early, Nayna guiding them through it by their side, swimming herself. As she could see them slowing down as they went towards the third island, when they reached the shore, she stepped in front of them.
"10 minutes rest then we continue."
"10!? Can't we rest a bit more?" Whined Nagisa.
"He is right. Over training can do a lot of harm too." Said Rei.
"You'll be able to rest next week all you want. This one is for training." She said ignoring their groans. "Come on, think about why you are doing it. Why you wanted this camp. After all, you want a better place than 6th, right?"
"Yeah but I didn't think it would be so much work..." Whined Nagisa.
"Alright then." She said laying on the ground. "Then you must be alright with that place...and to not pass the preliminaries, and keep staying in tents instead of some nice hotel rooms and swimming in the ocean instead of an inside pool. Suite yourselves. I tried to help." She said with a shrug.
"She is right, guys. We are doing this so we can win. We're better than the 6th place. We knew it won't be easy." Said Makoto getting up.
"Well...a nice hotel room an inside pool sure sounds nice." Said Nagisa thinking before jumping to his feet. "Alright! Let's go!" He cheered.
Nayna smirked from her place, proud that they actually took the bait.
They soon continued their swim back to their camp to start their second part of their training.
As the sun began to set, Gou came looking surprised at them.
"Wow, guys, I'm impressed that you keep up with all this." She said watching them sitting on an air chair.
"They just needed a little motivation." Said Nayna rather amused.
"I won't question your methods again. If this will get them better times, you can continue whatever you have been doing."
Nayna smiled at the other girl before turning more serious as she looked at the guys.
"Alright. You can relax now." She said and all four fell on their buts on the sand with a sigh of relief. "Now, some observations and words of advice. Makoto. You have a strong and aggressive stroke but you use all of your strength to fight against the waves, a thing that quickly wears you out. Try to work with the water, not against it." She said looking at the taller male
"Right. Thanks." He said with a smile.
She then looked at Rei.
"Rei, I know you just started to swim and a lot of things are new to you but stop thinking so much, stop focusing on the theory and the form and feel the water and work with it, she will tell you what your next move should be."
"But it's so-"
"I know it may sound illogical. But you are not just a brain. You are a whole, with a brain, a soul and a body, and all three are to be balanced in order to function right. So tone down the brain and start to feel the other two."
"I... I'll try..." He muttered confused.
The girl then turned to Nagisa.
"Nagisa, you have so much pent up energy that you throw around that you make more waves than the ocean."
"Pretty cool, right?" He grinned.
"Shut up. It's not a good thing."
"Aw, man..."
