Avie woke up to a ceiling that was not hers.

She blinked and rubbed her eyes to rid of the blur that was still present.

Slowly sitting up, she looked around and looked at JJ who slept next to her. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"JJ." She tapped his chest.

JJ groaned and squeezed his eyes shut.

"J." Avie said more seriously.

"Hm?" JJ opened his eyes then shot up after remembering the events of last night, "Jesus, are you alright?"

"I-, what? What happened?" Avie rubbed her head.

"You passed out in my truck after we ran from your parents." JJ looked at her, "How do you feel?"

Avie looked around, still confused, "I feel fine. I just remember you all fighting and that's it."

JJ looked at her sadly, "The baby."

Avie shook her head, "It's fine."

"How do you know?" JJ glanced at her stomach.

Avie looked back to him "I just fainted. I'm okay and I know the baby is, too."

JJ sighed, "Jesus, baby. It never ends." He rubbed his head as he ran his hands through his hair.

Avie nodded and closed her eyes, "No, it does not. You brought a gun to my house, JJ. When's the last time you did that, huh?"

JJ looked down, ashamed of himself, "Beginning of last summer."

"And you remember what happened! We had to sneak around my entire family until nearly October! It took them forever to trust you again."

"I know..."

"And now that I'm pregnant and you did that it's even worst! They are never going to forgive you. How could you be so careless?"

"I get it, Avie, I fucked up!" JJ stressed.

"I'm not trying to lecture you, it's just... my mom was working so hard to make that conversation go over smooth and try to calm my brothers. She couldn't defend you after that, J."

JJ sniffled as a tear rolled down his cheek and nodded.

Avie looked at him and caressed his cheek, "I'm sorry, you needed to be more careful."

JJ nodded without making eye contact.

"Look at me."

He looked into her eyes.

"I'm not mad, okay? We're together. I'm okay. We're safe."

JJ just nodded.

"That's all that matters."

"I love you, Avie."

"I love you more, JJ. So much." She pressed her lips against his.

"So much." JJ mumbled and continued the kiss. Avie smiled into the kiss before pressing her hands against his chest to gently push him off.

"Hm?" JJ slowly opened his eyes to look at why she stopped.

"My mom.." Avie realized.

"What about her?" JJ looked at her.

"Sh-she wouldn't want this to be happening. I need to go back." Avie started standing up.

"Aves, no. If you go back there, they are not going to let me see you again." JJ stood up to stop her.
