Prolog
2025
Every single TV in the country shows the same thing. A yellow screen with "breaking News" across it. But there hasn't been any breaking news since the Prime Minister told everyone to stay where they are. That the entire country is under lockdown due to a new virus outbreak. No more information. Nothing but silence for days.
Every single person in Denmark is watching this dreary screen waiting for new information. Some people defy the lockdown but are never to return home again.
Finally, several weeks later, something new appears on screen. A politician, people never have taken any notice of before. Someone insignificant from one of the smaller parties. But today when he speaks everyone listens.
"Your government has deceived you. Betrayed you. They've kept you in the dark and therefor sacrificing so many of you to contain their secrets. But no more. Today the government has fallen, and we have taken its place."
As the camera zooms out, a line of twelve men behind him is shown.
"We will not deceive you. We will not lie to you, and we will not sacrifice you." The camera zooms in on the politician once more. "I will tell you the truth. The new string of the virus is deadlier than ever before. It doesn't kill it victims. It changes them. Changes them into savage beasts who eats human flesh. But we can protect you. In this exact moment we are creating a safe haven for you all on Amager Island. As soon as possible, we will send someone to evacuate you and bring you to our Safe City.
