Alec"Is it okay if Angel comes too?" Jace is standing in the doorway to my room, holding his phone.
"I guess..." I answer with a frown. It's not that I don't like her, it's just that now my brother has his best friend and his girlfriend coming over, and I'm stuck here alone with them because Magnus is grounded. Again.
"Don't sound so enthusiastic." He whispers sarcastically while covering the mic on his phone with his hand before he returns to the conversation on the phone. "Alec says its fine. He is looking forward to watching a movie with us tonight." Jace says, and I can hear her piercing voice celebrating it. I roll my eyes and pretend to vomit. Jace grabs my pillow and throws it at me. Finally, he leaves, and I check my phone once more. The three dots have been dancing on the screen for what seems like forever. It can't take that long to answer. It's a yes or no question. I know it is not a fair question but come on we are teenagers. Who hasn't snuck out while being grounded?
Finally, the message appears.
Magnus: Sorry. Cant.
Alec: Why not?
Magnus: He is drunk. Again. 🙄
Alec: Then he won't notice...?
Magnus: He is fighting with mom.
Magnus: And my sister is crying.
Magnus: sorry 😔
Alec: It's okay. Take care of your sister.
Magnus: I really am sorry.
Alec: I know. Don't worry. I'll be fine.
I'll just die slowly inside while listening to Simon and Angel. 🙄 🤮
Magnus: Don't be mean, Alexander.
Alec: Never. It would not even cross my mind. 😇
Magnus: 🤣 🤣 🤣
I sigh and toss my phone on the bed. I hate being alone with Jace, Simon and Angel. They are annoying. Maybe Lydia can come over instead? Fingers crossed. I swiftly send her a message saying that our parents aren't home tonight, so we will order pizza and watch a bunch of movies. I watch as the three dots at the bottom of the screen lets me know she is texting me back.
Lydia: Movie night sounds great! Count me in. 👍
Alec: Perfect. See you in a bit.
