Jace
"Seriously Jace, you've signed up for a self-defense class? You don't think that's a little redundant?" Alec asks while packing his bookbag for school.
"No, I don't actually. It's self-defense. You learn to defend yourself without a weapon?" I retort slightly sarcastic. "It's not exactly the same as the shooting range, now is it?"
"I know that asshole, but who are you going to protect yourself from? Our butler? The chef?"
I shake my head and glare at him.
"You are such a prick sometimes, you know that?"
"Well, you are an entitled brat all of the time, so...." Alec responds with a shrug.
"Fuck you."
"Boys!" Maryse yells from down the hall. "No fighting in the morning!"
"Sorry mom." We both shout back while still glaring at each other.
"You do know you are just as entitled as me, right? More so, actually because you were born into this." I continue, though with a much lower voice.
"Oh, shut up. Biology has nothing to do with the fact that you are a brownnose little suck up, who always does what mommy and daddy tells you to. You can't hide behind being adopted anymore, Jace. You are a rich kid. Deal with it!"
Alec throws his bag over the shoulder and stomps out of the house. God, he is constantly being overdramatic. Sure, I might follow the rules a lot more than him, but that doesn't make me a brownnose. I'm just not disobeying my parents constantly. Like him.
"Bye mom!" I shout as I grab my bag and head out the door, just in time to see my brother speed out of our driveway. Bastard! He was supposed to give me a ride. I don't have my permit yet.
I sigh as I unlock the bike. It's only seven miles. I'll make it in time for first class. Maybe.
Alec can be such a dickhead. I love my brother, but I miss the time where we were allies instead of enemies. I don't know what has gone wrong between us. I don't know why he keep acting out all the time. Maybe It's that new friend of his that's a bad influence?
I shake my head in disbelieve as my mind continues to debate amongst itself. No,I don't think he is the reason. He's actually a good guy. I kind of like him, even though he doesn't say much. He just seems a bit damaged. Like he is going through something. Or have been going through something at an early age, maybe. I don't know. Alec probably knows. It seems like they have become extremely close lately. Alec have even ditched a lot of his old friends, just to hang out with the new guy. Magnus.
Maybe Magnus doesn't like me, and that's why Alec is like that now? I hope not.
When I finally arrive at the school, classes have already started. Alec is leaning against the hood of his car with a sadistic smirk on his face.
