Jace"You two," Alaric gestures towards me and Alec, "check out that building over there. See if there is something we can use."
I nod and drags Alec with me. he's still not completely himself, but its getting better. We search the kitchen and the pantry for food and finds a few useful things.
"Hey, look..." Alec points outside the window and I join him. "The City is sending a boat."
"That's weird..." I add and keep looking. It's only one single boat with three or four people on it. We keep watching as the row up to the shore and toss out a body. And it somehow looks familiar.
"What the fu...? It's SEBASTIAN!" Alec screams and run outside, straight into Alaric who holds him back.
"Quiet down, Lightwood: What's your problem?"
"It's Sebastian. Down there! He is bleeding!!" Alec keeps struggling against Alaric's grip and I run outside too.
"Forget it! He's already dead."
"No! no he's not, he's moving!"
As I look down to the shore, I can see Alec is right. it is Sebastian, and he is still alive. But Alaric isn't caving.
"Forget it Lightwood! I'm not wasting valuable life for someone who's half dead."
Alec keeps screaming and fighting and I know he won't give up. The best I can do, is save Sebastian for him. So, I make a quick decision and sprint down to the shore.
"JACE!" Alaric screams at me, but I keep going. I held Alec back once, and it cost him the love of his life. I'm not doing that again.
Luckily there are no infected in sight so I can easily get him. He is bleeding bad. I pull him up and throw him over my shoulder before running back to the group. Alaric is not pleased.
"You are not bringing him into the station! His scent will make every fucking beast come knocking on our gates. He stays out here!"
"Then I stay out here!" Alec screams at Alaric, and I know he isn't kidding, he means it. So, I join him.
"Me too."
"Fine! That's your choice!" Alaric orders everybody back to the station and leaves us behind. We have no other choice than to go inside the building and hope it'll be enough to save us from the creatures when they come.

"Give me the needle..."
Alec hands me the needles which he has bathed in alcohol beforehand. I keep applying pressure to the artery while I stitch it up. I have no idea what I'm doing. At least Sebastian has passed out from the pain. It was excruciating to hear him scream.
"JACE!?" Simon yells as he runs by the building outside. Alec hurries out to get him. Someone from the group must have told him about the situation when they arrived back at the station.
"Oh fuck..." Simon stops and almost gags when he sees his brother covered in blood. Alec guides him over to the window to catch a breath of fresh air.
"You are doing good, kiddo." A familiar voice sounds behind me. Alaric's right-hand man. Lucian Greymark.
"Luke! Oh, thank God!" Luke has a background as a military medic and a police officer, so there couldn't be anyone better here right now. "I don't know what the fuck I'm doing."
"Take it easy. I'm here to help. First, we are going to stabilize him, and then we have to move you to a safer place. Somewhere with medical supplies, and I know just the place. But the most important thing right now is to get him some blood. What is his blood type?"
Simon comes over along with Alec.
"I don't know..."
"Take mine." Alec pulls up his sleeve. I'm O negative. The universal donor."
"Perfect." Luke's smile almost lights up the room. "Now we just need to find a way to give the blood to him."
There's no doubt that Luke is amazing. The things he can do without any real medical supplies, is incredible. In no time he has made a central line from Alec's veins to Sebastian's. And I have successfully stopped the bleeding, so now there is nothing else to do than wait.
Meanwhile, Luke is having a close eye on Alec, making sure he doesn't pass out. After a little while, Sebastian opens his eyes slightly. He is groggy, but semi-conscious. When he sees Alec, he begins to ramble.
"I tried... I'm sorry I tried..."
"Tried what... what are you talking about..." Alec takes Sebastian's hand.
"I tried finding him... but no one knew... no one knew..."
Before we can make any sense of what he was saying, he blacks out again.
"Just let him rest. He is stable now, so its time we move on to a better facility. And once we get there, I'll help you guys settle in. but I won't stay there with you."
"Why not?" I ask Luke.
"Because seeing Sebastian likes this, makes me realize just how much Valentine is capable of."
"You know him?"
"Yes. We were good friends once. His wife, Jocelyn too. Before she passed away." Something in his eyes change when he talks about her. "And I need to do something about it. Maybe I can get through to him. And if not... then maybe I can save his daughter instead."
I understand his intentions. As much as I would love him to stay here and help, I can see that it is much more important that he stops valentine.
"Thank you for your help, Luke. We wouldn't have made it without you."
"I think you would. You've got skills kid. Maybe you should read up on surgery. It can come in handy in a world like this. And where I'm taking you, there will be a lot of textbooks."
We pack up a few things and follow Luke as he leads us to the Copenhagen university hospital. It has everything we need to save Sebastian. And improve my skills. Cause Luke is right. we need someone who knows a little about medicine.
