Her scent hits me as soon as she climbs onto shore.

I remember that smell. Its embedded deep into my subconscious memory.

She is the daughter he talked about. She is the reason he came to my home.

That makes her the reason I was banished.

I growl low as my killerinstincts sets in. I want to kill her, but first I'll make her suffer. Turn her into one of us and parade her around on the shore for her father to see. Starve her until she is nothing but a shell of who she once was. And then, when she is nothing more than a hungry beast, I will find a way to make her kill and eat her father.

I don't know exactly how to do that yet, but I will find a way...

I roar and sends the other creatures after her as she runs along the shoreline. They are not going to kill her, but only capture her for me. I follow them closely, watching my revenge unfolding. Enjoying every moment of it. The sounds of her screams and cries satisfy me immensely. I want to indulge in her fear and pain.

Then suddenly, an arrow hits one of my creatures, and seconds later, a man comes running towards them, swinging a sword. He strikes and cuts heads clear of every one of the creatures that he gets nearby.

Stupid fucking human! He is ruining it! Growling, I run faster towards them. I want to kill them all! Who do they think they are, coming here, meddling in my affairs! It's not their territory. It's mine! Ill teach them to stay away.

But just as I want to launch an attack, even more humans appear. Arrows fly through the air killing of my creatures one by one. This doesn't make sense. Humans haven't attacked us for years. Only if they are trying to fight us off when we hunt them, but this is different. They don't even seem all that scared of us. They aren't acting like the prey that are.

No, they are acting like they are the ones hunting us...

My creatures keep going forward. Hunting the woman and the other humans that have emerged without any sense of self preservation. But what can I say... not all of them have any human intelligence left. That is why they have me. I am their leader. I am the sanity and reason that keeps us alive and thriving. I keep us strong. Unfortunately, that means for now I have to put their wellbeing and survival higher than my revenge.

I roar loudly. Ordering them to stop pursuing our prey, and they obey. They growl and hiss their dissatisfaction, but they do as they are told. They know the consequences if they don't.

The humans' confusion over our behavior is very clear and I actually take great pleasure in that. They think we all are thoughtless monsters who only follow our basic instincts to hunt and kill. If only they knew... we are much more than they think.

Soon enough they will discover that.

A plan starts forming in my head. For now, the most important thing for us to do, is to follow and observe these humans without their notice.

It is crucial they don't suspect that we too are capable of plotting and planning. The longer they underestimate us, the easier my plan will be to execute.
