It's the year 2038 and a deadly virus has consumed the world for more than 14 years.
In Denmark, an unknown politician took it upon himself to create a safe space from the infected. As long as you abide by the 8 Obligations, you are allowed to live...

We were told we would be evacuated, but nothing has happened yet. We are still stranded at the high school. We haven't been given any supplies. And we are all living under the tyranny of a few bullies. No one has seen a teacher for days. Either they are hiding, or something worse has happened to them...
Our new leader is a jock named Raj. He's a complete imbecile but has a lot of followers. They guard him like he's a celebrity. He rarely fights his own battles. The only time I've seen him do it, is the day he went after me, but that day his friends were there too. I wasn't only fighting him, but five idiots. And I lost... I hate losing.
Needless to say, I hate the guy!
Thank God that Alec is here too. If he and Jace hadn't been here, I would probably have left the school. No matter the consequences from outside. And speaking of outside, Raj's squad has removed a single board from the windows so they can look out. Occasionally we see someone move around out there, but if it's someone who's infected or not, we don't know. I just hope moving that board won't come back to bite us in the ass.
To be honest, we don't even know if what that guy, Valentine, said is true. According to Jace, he's mentally unstable, so it's possible that there isn't any virus... But we aren't risking it.
I haven't heard from my sister in weeks. I try not to think about it. Afterall, I don't know if her phone is just run out of power. Here we only have a few chargers, and if you want your phone charged, you have to pay a fee to Raj.
Dickface...
Before I get a chance to work myself up again, Alec places an arm around me shoulders. It's like he senses when I'm getting agitated, and then prevent me from setting of. I really don't know what I should do without him.
"You okay there?"
All three guys look at me. We are sitting next to each other with our backs against the wall. We have found it to be the safest place.
"Yeah... thanks Alexander." I smile at him. "What should I do without you?"
"Probably get in a lot of problems."
"So true..." Simons chimes in. I scowl at him, but just for fun. He swaps places with Jace to create some distance, while pretending to fear me. Alec laughs at it, and it's nice to hear that laugh. It doesn't happen that often anymore. For any of us.
The laugh dies down quickly though, and all of us glance slightly towards our new leadership, but they didn't notice. Thank God. It's impossible to know what Raj will see as illegal under his reign from day to day. And we have seen people get beaten up for having fun before.
No one is allowed out of the cafeteria anymore. Not without a personal invitation from Raj. And some people never come back again. We don't know what happens to them, but it can't be good.
