The room is spinning, or so it feels when I slowly pry my eyes open. My head is pounding and my throat dry. I groan as I try to focus on my surroundings. Everything is hazy.

"Fuck..." I groan and clutch my head. "What the hell happened...?"

No response.

"Magnus?" I ask as I try harder to focus my eyes. Still no response. I glance around the room, trying to recognize anything, but I can't. It most definitely isn't our room at the Hostel. I know that much. It almost looks like an abandoned building. Have I been on a hunt? Was Magnus actually with me, or have I been dreaming that?

Just as the thought hits, I notice the lifeless body in front of me. And all I really see is the black hair covering the male's face.

It can't be... please... it can't be.

"Mag- Magnus...?" I stutter as I slowly reach out to gently stroke the hair away from his face. My hands start shivering when the face is revealed to me. My heart drops instantly.

"No..." I whisper as my throat closes up. I shake my head repeatedly and shut my eyes. Hoping I will wake from this nightmare, but when I open them, Magnus is still on the ground in front of me. And that's when reality really hits me.

"NO!!!" I scream and pull his body up on my lab, crying relentless. "Magnus, no! please!!!! NO!!!" I hold his body close to mine as I keep crying loudly. I don't care if anyone hears me. Nothing matters anymore. Let the Anthroes or the Protectors get me. Who fucking cares?

"Please Magnus. Don't be dead. I can't lose you again...." I caress his cheek gently as I speak. His eyes suddenly flutter slightly.

"Magnus?!" He is alive. He is still alive! "Magnus!" He doesn't respond, and I can't feel his pulse. But I know what I saw. He is alive. I know it.

Then I notice the bitemark on his neck and I cry even harder. Even if he isn't dead, he will turn... A thought suddenly strikes me. Jace. Jace might be able to help him. I just have to figure out where I am and how I get back to the Hostel. Jace will save him. He has to.

I have to leave my bow and arrow behind, because I won't be able to use it properly with the extra weight on my back and shoulders, so instead I take Magnus' weapon with me. I leave the duffle bag with the blankets and less necessary things behind. I hide it all in a small cabinet hoping no one will come through here, looking for supplies or something.

With great effort, I get Magnus' body up on my shoulders. Now I just have to make it all the way to the Hostel. In enemy territory.

Right... this will be a walk in the park. If the park was on fire and my clothes drenched in petroleum.

Carefully, I peek outside the building. It doesn't seem that there is anyone lurking out here, so I pull up my big-boy pants and begin to make my way towards the Hostel. I can only pray that Jace will be able to help him when we get there.
