It's the year 2038 and a deadly virus has consumed the world for more than 14 years.
In Denmark, an unknown politician took it upon himself to create a safe space from the infected. As long as you abide by the 8 Obligations, you are allowed to live...

"Has he responden yet?" Izzy is looking over my shoulder, trying to read my texts from Simon. I know they are dating and all, but damn she annoys me sometimes.
"Not yet, Izzy. Don't worry, I'll tell you when he does."
She sighs deeply but sits back in her chair again. It feels like we have been trapped in this godawful classroom for years. If only the pandemic had waited six more months, then we would be at the high school with both my brother and Izzy's brothers. Instead, we are stuck here with screaming kids 24/7.
The teachers are trying their best to keep us all sane, but I can tell they don't have much fight left in them. A lot of the students from my class, has already left. We don't know if they have made it home or not, but something tells me they haven't.
I know how irresponsible it is to go outside right now, and that's why I feel so immature while I wait for my brother to answer my text. Izzy and I are planning to go meet them at the high school.
"Izzy, he answered."
Instantly, she is looking over my shoulder again.
"Damnit... he says it a bad idea."
"Give me that phone!" Izzy rips the phone from my hands and start writing. I look over her shoulder and have to stifle a laugh. Damn, she is really giving my brother hell. This time the answer comes back swiftly.
"Done." She throws the phone to me. "Now, let's go."
"I swear, you have my brother's balls so tightly wrapped up in your fist that I doubt he will ever be able to make kids."
"Shut up." Izzy answers with a grin. We both know he loves her too much to ever argue with her. He'll always do as she wants.
We grab our stuff, put it in our backpacks and leave the school. The teachers are too preoccupied with the howling children to even notice.
The high school isn't that far away, but we have to move quietly. Simon warned us about the infected being aggressive. We are just hoping we won't run into any of them. And thankfully we are lucky.
When we arrive at the high school, the front is packed with busses and teenagers.
"They are being evacuated. Hurry, write to Simon. We have to get on a bus with them!"
I grab my phone and writes him a message that we are there. We stay out of sight until my brother responds, just in case.
But before I get to read his text, all hell breaks loose. People start to scream and run around like headless chickens.
