Dario's dinner was one of the favorite restaurants for werewolves in town, not only because of the moon-based decoration but also because it had a free meat buffet.

We used to come here at least once a week, and it got to the point that the owner made us promise that we'd only come once a month or he'd probably go broke because of the amount of meat they ate.

"Is this heaven?" Casey asked before filling her mouth with another piece of meat.

I had a bit of food to keep up appearances, but I just said that after getting hit I wasn't very hungry.

"I'm glad you like it," I smiled at the sight of her stuffing her face with food and nodding. I had to admit that it was pretty cute, but I guess that I'd think of Casey as cute even if she was committing murder.

Her behavior around me today was lighter than the other times we were in the same room together and it felt... nice. She reminded me of Alice in some ways, but the difference was probably that every time I looked at Alice, I saw a clumsy party-enjoying wolf and not a cute one.

Even if she once was the vicious scooter driver werewolf.

Strong first impressions are what makes people judge others, choose if they're going to like this person or not, but sometimes impressions change, and mine have.

I didn't feel that weird conflict I felt when I first met her, and instead of wanting to avoid her, I was starting to get a liking to this girl. My soft crush wasn't just a crush anymore, and it kinda concerned me, but that's a problem for future Hunter, just like most things are.

"So," she swallowed her food before speaking. "Why Psychology?"

"Well, as much as I'm average in other subjects, I think that the more humanistic ones are my favorites. It's fun to study them," I explained and she nodded in agreement. "You're an Art major, right?"

"Yup, that's one of the only ones that are left..." She said as if it was the most casual thing ever. I knew what she meant but gave her a confused look to keep up my front. "I mean, one of the only options that I have left that I can study since I'm not good at other stuff. I also like painting and all of that."

Nice save, I guess.

"Well, enough with college talk," I decided to change the subject. "Do you have any siblings?"

"I have an older brother, but he's in a different continent. We don't get along so well because of the age gap. What about you?"

"Not siblings, but I do have five cousins that I grew up with. Four girls, the youngest one is just normal, then there are the twins that are true spawns of Satan, and the oldest that's actually the only one that I like. And then there's the boy. He's one year younger than the oldest, and I can't stand his face or his hair full of gel, but he's still better than the twins."

"The others mentioned that you live with your uncle, right?" I hummed in response. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your parents?"

"They died after I was born. Car accident," I lied, as much as it pained me to do so. A part of me wanted to tell the whole truth, but I had to follow my plan.

"I'm sorry to hear it."

"It's okay, it was a long time ago," I said like I wasn't plotting revenge. "What about your parents?"

"They're with my brother. They were always closer to him anyways."

She waved it off, but I could tell that she wasn't happy about that. I knew how it sucked to be treated differently from people that supposedly were your equals, even if my "cousins" weren't exactly my equals. They weren't even my cousins to begin with, just some strangers that I decided to call that way so it would be easier to explain to people.

"But at least I got the others to watch my back. Alice and I have known each other since she was a teenager. I'm just a tad bit older than she is, but she's still more mature than I am sometimes."

A tad bit? Yeah, just a few hundred years.

"Was she always a troublemaker?"

"I may have had some influence on her in that subject." She blushed, probably a bit embarrassed, and then her eyes looked behind me. "Speaking of the devil."

"Hey, didn't know you guys were here," Alice's voice got closer to me, and she wasn't alone. The crew is all here.

The three werewolves took seats at our table and ordered some food before we got talking.

"Wait, so you're saying that you were teaching her how to ride that death trap?" Avery said after we told him what we were doing earlier. "And you enjoyed riding it?"

"Yeah, it's pretty fun."

"And then you lost control and ended up flying and getting run over again?"

"That part was most definitely not so nice," I scrunched my nose at the memory.

"You do realize that if we got a dollar from every time you got run over, we'd have two dollars, which isn't much but is still weird that it happened twice, right?" Alice joked, making the others laugh.

"Actually, you'd have four," I corrected.

"What!? You were run over before? Twice?" Avery's voice sounded like he was losing his mind over the new information, and it only made me and the others laugh more. Such a concerned mom.

"Yeah, by my cousins," I finally managed to speak again. "Lauren and Liliana."

"The evil twins?" Casey asked.

"Yeah. We were all twelve and they stole their dad's pickup. Lauren went first and managed to hit me, but when I got up, Liliana announced that it was her turn. She only stopped when I was below the car." I laughed a humorless laugh to try and lighten up the mood but no one seemed to find it very funny. "Tough crowd, I see."

"I'd like to announce on behalf of everyone that if your cousins ever visit you, we'll make sure to run them over at least once," Mason pointed, and everyone seemed to agree with him.

It was a bit scary knowing that they actually meant it, but it was also nice to see people concerned about me.

We all talked a bit more before paying and heading back to the dorms before it got too late. After saying our goodbyes Casey and I were alone again.

"So, I'd say it was a pretty decent day," she broke the silence while taking the scooter back into her room and coming back.

"It really was."

"We should do it more often." She sat on the couch and I felt the urge to do the same.

"We really should," I smiled. "But not the getting run over part. That's starting to feel like a habit more than an accident."

Her soft laugh made me feel things again, so I did what was the best in this situation. I got up from the couch.

Casey seemed to be a bit sad for a second before masking her emotions and it made my heart sting, but it wasn't fair for her to get into something she didn't know the entire truth about.

Of course she still thought I was a human, but I guess it's easier to tell someone you're a werewolf than to tell a werewolf you're a vampire and a supernatural hunter.

"Since I suggested the scooter thing, you'll be the one deciding for next time."

"So there will be a next time." She was back to smiling like a puppy. One of the things about Casey that made her even cuter is that she got excited by the smallest things and she wasn't afraid of showing it.

"We are roommates and we lack bonding time. I guess we don't have a choice, do we?"

"No, we don't," she smirked. "Don't worry, it'll be the best date of your life."

I got into my room before processing her words.

Date? Well, I wasn't complaining, but my plans of taking things slow were definitely getting ruined.
