Chapter 66

Tobias POV
I've been in a bad mood for the past couple days and tris has ignored me all together. She did tell me why though, it wasn't because I accidentally punched her but because I won't talk to her and I've been bitter.

The only reason I've been like this though was because I got a note from my mother on Wednesday, she died when I was young but apparently she's still alive. There's no part of me that's happy to see her or to know she's alive. She left me. Lied to me. Caused me pain. And now she comes back wanting a great relationship with me, for me to join her in factionless, to leave tris! I'm more mad then sad that's for sure.

I'm sitting in my bed when I hear some shoes squeaking. I look behind me and see tris walking in, she's carrying her jacket in her arms. She drops it onto her bed and turns to me. I didn't realize it till now, but I've missed seeing the sparkle of her eyes. "Look. I'm sure you don't want to talk and I'm sure that I'm the last person you want to talk to but-" I cut her off and she's a bit taken back. "I want to talk. I want to make this right with us." I say and she smiles. "Kay." She says taking a set by me.

"I got a letter Wednesday." I say and she leans in my chest as I lean back on my pillow. "From my mother." I say and she jerks up. "But isn't she-" "Dead? Yea. Well supposed to be anyway." I clear up and she leans back. "What did she want??" She asks. I can feel the comfort and carefulness in her voice. "She wanted to see me and also asked me to join her in factionless." I answer. "Oh." "Yea. I said no of course." I say and I feel the tenseness in tris relax. "Was it good to see her?" She asks. "No." Tris sits up to look at me. "Maybe.. I don't know." I say and it's the truth.

Tris nods. "Well now I know why you've been so moody." She says laughing. I smile and kiss her. She's surprised at first but soon kisses me back. I pull back and look deep into her eyes. "I love you tris." I say and her smile grows. "I love you too tobias eaton."
