Chapter 56

Tris POV
Tobias comes out and sits back next to me, he's quiet and seems to be thinking hard about things. Others go and we wait for what seems like hours. They said the rest of us will go tomorrow. I'm relieved that I can wait. We all leave the room and head to lunch. I sit next to tobias and Marlene, chris and will across from us. "That was awful!" Chris says as she places her head in her hands. I swallow some food and look around unable to focus on eating. Tobias still hasn't spoken much or even looked at people. I nudge him with my elbow, he looks over barely. I give him the "are you okay?" Look and he shrugs.

Lunch ends and we have the rest of the day to ourselves. Tobias had disappeared and I was a bit worried about him, but I decided to let him have some space. "Come on tris! We're going zip lining!" Marlene calls over to me. "I don't know. I'm not sure I'm up for it today." I tell her and she sighs dramatically. I laugh and she slips off towards uriah. I sit on my bed and just relax. "Tris you coming?" Chris and Zeke yell to me. "Um..." I start and chris runs over. "You're coming, whether you like it or not!" she states and drags my hand. "Fine fine!" I give in and zeke pats me on the back. "Have you seen four?" I ask him as we walk down the hallway. He shakes his head. "Nope. Not since lunch." I nod.

After lunch I left to get some space and some alone time. I wouldn't mind spending it with tris but I know she'll ask about the simulation and I don't knew if I can talk about it right now. I heard some of them talking about going zip lining and thankfully I won't have to do that. I head down to the tattoo parlor instead. "Hey four!" Tori calls out. "Hi." I say and take a seat. "I'll be ready for you in a sec." Tori says finishing some guys tattoo. I can see parts of the tattoo, I see a dauntless symbol and maybe a snake. I'm not sure since I'm not close enough.

"Alright four. Over here." Tori says pointing to an empty seat. "What would you like?" She asks. "I actually had an idea and sketched it real fast." I tell her and hand her a piece of paper. "Wow! You sure about this?" She asks and I nod. She begins and finishes a while later. I pay her and walk out with basically my entire back covered in ink and wrapped up. "Tobias! Wait up!" I hear tris says running up to me. "Hi." I say. "Hey." She kisses my cheek. "Sorry about earlier." I tell her and she gives me a confused look. "Why would you be sorry? You had the right to be quiet." She says and leans her head on my shoulder as we walk back to the dorms.

We take a seat on our beds facing each other. "Did you go zip lining?" I ask. She nods. "It's really fun. I mean you probably won't like it with the heights and all but it's fun!" She says. "I'll go with you sometime." I tell her. "No tobias I didn't mean that-" "I want to. I feel safer when I'm with you." I say and she blushes. "I love you." I say and get up to change into my sleeping clothes.
