Tobias POV
I get home and Marcus is in the living room.
I tip toe up the stairs so that he doesn't hear me. But he does. "Tobias!" He yells and I know that I have to face him. I come back down and enter the living room. "Yes?" I say quietly. "Would you like to explain to me why you were not in school today?" His eyes burn a hole into my soul. His hands griping the side of the chair. "I..umm.." "Why do you stumble son?" He asks intimidating me. "I didn't go because of my bruises." I say looking at my shoes. "I see. I see. So you blame me for this??" He says getting angrier. "No.." I say looking up a bit. "But how am I supposed to explain to kids, teachers that my face is black and blue?! That my back is full of scars?!!?" I say looking right at him. "You will not yell at me!" He say getting up and starts to undo his belt buckle. "I am your father!" He says yelling. I do not turn away. He holds the belt up and gets ready to swing it at me. "Do this.. And school won't be an option tomorrow!" I say getting ready for the stinging pain.

Marcus puts the belt down. "Fine. But you shall go to bed now, without dinner." I nod and walk up the stairs. If he thinks that this is supposed to be a punishment, he is wrong. I don't care if I don't get dinner. I know he can do worse.
