Tobias POV
I wake up shaking and sweating, I look over and tris is still asleep. I get up to get some water. I grab a glass from the kitchen and drink all of it. I come back upstairs and tris is sitting up. "What's wrong?" She asks. I can sense the concern in her voice. "I just had a bad dream. I got up for some water. Get some sleep now." I tell her while getting under the covers. "Tell me your dream.." She says. I look at her, even in the darkness of the room her eyes still sparkle. I sigh.. "Alright."

Dream
There's a knock at the door, tris is peaceful next to me so I decide to get it. I open the door and standing there in front of me.. Is Marcus. "Son." He says sternly with hatred in his voice. "What are you doing here?" I ask trying not to look directly into his eyes. "I should be asking you the same." He says. "I sleeping over here." I tell him. "Whys that tobias?" He asks and I see him start to loosen his belt. "I.. I came to spend the night with beatrice. Also because you beat the hell out of me." I say getting angrier. His belt it all the way out now and his eyes burn into me. "Well is that so?" He says not wanting a response even though it's a question. He lifts his hand and a stinging pain fills my cheek. He swings again and it hits my ribs. I fall to the ground and he swings at my back. Searing pain.. I scream out in agony. "Stop!" I scream. But he doesn't. I see blood not only on his belt but on the floor around me.

Pools cover the floor, my shirt soaked through. He give one last swing and I black out.

"So that was all of it." I tell tris. She's in tears and I feel bad for telling her. "I'm.. I'm so sorry." She whispers. I shake my head. "I shouldn't have told you." "No tobias! You were right to tell me." She says taking my hand in hers. "You can't go back to that place." She says. I nod, "I can't really escape though." We are silent for moments. "Yes you can." She says and I'm confused at first. "How?" I ask. She looks up at me. "Next week. Is the choosing ceremony. Monday is aptitude testing." She says and reality comes back. I had forgotten all about that. "But what if I get abnegation." I say and she replies "You don't have to choose what the test told you. Tobias you need this. It's your chance for freedom!" She says and a tear falls from my eyes.

She right.

Freedom. How I've longed for it, how I've dreamed for it. This is my chance.
