Tobias POV
I wake up feeling content and may I say happy. I get up and shower, then head down to the dinning room to eat breakfast with everyone. "Hey! You're here early." Uriah exclaims as I sit down. I shrug, "You're early too." I point out. "Touché." He says wiggling his eyebrows.

I laugh then feel someone hug me from behind. "Morning." The person says and I know it's tris. She sits beside me. "Morning to you too." I say smiling. "What's with you?" She asks as she grabs a piece of bacon. "Nothing. Why?" I ask kind of confused. "You seem happy." "I can't be happy?" I ask with a light chuckle. "I don't know." She says kissing my cheek.

When we're all done we head down and take a seat waiting for our names to be called. We're all getting somewhat used to waiting and the anxiety that comes with it, not fully, but a little. "Four." Amar calls. I sigh and get up, I'm first. Everyone watches as I get up and walk into the simulation room.

"Take a seat." He says. "Thank you." He tells me as I sit and he screws the lid on something. He turns to me and asks if I'm ready, I'm not but I nod anyway. Then he sticks the needle in and it plunges me into my nightmares.

I open my eyes and all I see is black, I move my arms and I can walk around so I know its not confinement. Suddenly, a swoosh sound fills the air, followed by searing pain in my right arm. I wince and twist around to face that direction.

Then stepping into the light, that the window is now providing, is Marcus. Belt in hand, and hatred in his eyes. His eyes are as black as coal, and never faltering their gaze on me. He still has a scar on his face which I left when I beat him in the abnegation gravel.

"What do you want?" I ask not afraid. He smirks and moves his arm to hit me again, my hand stops his arm but for once it's almost too strong for me. My hands starts to slip as he keeps moving the belt closer and closer to my face each time. Why can't I stop him like I can almost every time??

"You're weak." He says. I'm using all my strength but soon I know I'll feel the sting of the leather once again. "You're pathetic." He spits. "Just like your mother." He says and this ignites a fire inside me. "She thought she could be strong and fearless, all for what? You? She endured pain for you." He says and I push his arms all the way back and I jerk awake.

I step out of the room, take my seat, and am silent. I can see tris looking at me from the corner of my eye, but I don't look over. Uriah goes in next, then peter, Zeke, Christina, and then tris gets up to go. That's when I turn to look, I watch her walk in, fear flowing through her veins.

We all have bravery inside of us, but sometimes the fear gets first call. Fear gets the front seat that drives us, and that's when we pull the bravery out.
