"I've got a bad feeling about this."

Cleo woke early the following day after a fitful night of sleep. She couldn't stop replaying the things Sirius had said to her the night before, and it resulted in her tossing and turning for most of the night.

Groggily, she opened the bedroom door to start putting on a pot of coffee, rubbing her eyes as she began to walk to the kitchen. She took two steps and tripped over a large bundle lying on the floor right outside the door.

"Shit!" she cursed, hitting the ground. Sirius' sleeping form turned and woke, his body curled uncomfortably so that he could fit entirely underneath the blanket that was a tad too small to cover all of him.

"Darling I-" he started.

"What are you doing sleeping on the floor?" she exclaimed, rubbing her head. Her legs were thrown over his as she pushed herself to sit up.

"Couch was uncomfy..." he mumbled, sitting up as well. "I'm sorry, Cleo." She looked at him and let her shoulders drop as he continued. "I'm so sorry, I just got frustrated for practically nothing, and I attacked you with accusations. Of course, I know you wouldn't do anything, I was being stupid, and I'm sorry."

She blinked a few times, her blue eyes shining lightly in the morning sun. "You were really stupid."

"I know, and I would promise it won't happen again, but stupidity runs in the family. Our kids are gonna be 50 percent stupid," he tried to joke. She gave him a look, though, and his smirk fell again. "I won't be stupid like that ever again, though, I promise. I'm sorry."

Cleo nodded slowly, sniffling. "You know, genetics doesn't work like that, though. Our kids aren't split 50/50 between us."

"Babe, I told you, I'm stupid." Finally, Cleo laughed. Sirius reached over and took her head between his hands, kissing her forehead gently. "I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too," she sighed. "I'm still going to be mad for a few more days. Your words really did sting. But I do love you."

"I'll make it up to you," he nodded.

"Make me breakfast?"

"And repeat the disaster from last night? Absolutely not. I'll go buy you breakfast, though, right now." He stood up and untangled himself from the blanket on the floor and, without changing from his pajamas, grabbed his motorcycle helmet from the table and ran to the door.

"Scones, please!" she shouted from the ground as he gave her a thumbs up on his way out. She let out a deep sigh after the door shut.

They bided their time until June 25th. It was cloudy, and the sky was grey when Sirius and Cleo intertwined their fingers and apparated to the meeting spot.
The day before, Dumbledore had sent along a Patronus that gave them the details of their operation. They were to meet the following day at six in the evening at a petrol station in Brighton. They were told to apparate a block or two away and walk, and they would meet up with Mad-Eye Moody and a few other wizards who were asked to join.
