"if i could disappear right now, and never come back, I would"
'"Miss Markis!" a voice called after her as she walked briskly down the hall. "Oh Miss Markis!" she turned to see Professor Slughorn chasing after her, waving his hand to her as he waddled up. Professor Slughorn was her Potions master, and a stout, but kind man at that.
"Hello Professor," she greeted cheerfully with a smile. She had been feeling much better over the last couple days, and considering the fact that she only had one more class and then it was the weekend, made her feel particularly happy.
"I wanted to catch up with you," he said as they began to walk in the same direction again. "You are doing well in all of your classes this year, I am sure?"
"Yes Professor, I'm doing fairly well I think," she nodded.
"Oh yes," he hummed. "I would quite agree. You seem to be excelling this year more than ever!" he exclaimed. "What, might I ask, would be the reason for this furtherance of study?"
She wanted to tell him that now that she didn't sleep, she had plenty of more time to study and catch up on her homework, but afraid of what he might say or ask, she held it to herself.
"I suppose I'm just... planning my future," she shrugged.
"And you know what you want to do?" he asked curiously.
"I... I think I want to be an auror, Professor," she nodded. She had a quick flash of something satisfying, a feeling of finally catching every death eater who had hurt her. Finally getting to turn her sister over in the same form of betrayal she had taken.
"And a fine good one you would be, Miss Markis," he smiled at her. "Now tell me dear, are you free Saturday night? I'm having a dinner party, all of my favorites are invited you see, although I don't mean to pick them, but I should like to get to know a select few more adequately," he rambled out quickly.
"Um, I suppose-"
"Oh excellent!" he took up Cleo's hand and shook it vigorously. "Brilliant, my dear, welcome to the Slug Club, oh Lily Evans will be there as well, and Luna Maxwell too, I know you're quite good friends with those two extraordinary ladies," he continued to shake her hand as she stood slightly dumbfounded. "Oh goodness!" he exclaimed, laughing. "There is Mr. Rabnott, I suppose I need to give him the invitation as well, see you tomorrow evening Miss Markis!" And he was off.
"The Slug Club?!" James howled, holding onto his sides as he toppled over, laughing.
