The next full moon came quicker than they had expected. Soon, Remus began getting irritable, and he had heavy bags under his eyes. His smile disappeared and he didn't even have the energy to be as sarcastic as he usually was.
Everyone noticed, and it pained them that they couldn't do anything about it. The boys were working hard on finally trying to transform into their Animagus forms, but it wasn't working yet.
The only people who were not aware of his condition was Luna, Indie, Lily, and Ambrosia. It's not that they weren't trustworthy because of course, they were, but Remus simply had stronger bonds with the others, and a couple of them may or may not have found out by accident. Turns out, when Remus gathered enough strength to tell the boys about him, they seemed to already know most of it. Remus never wanted to know how they did it.
"Remus, eat some chocolate before you go," Cleo said, handing him a half eaten chocolate bar. He looked at it questioningly, and Cleo blushed before shrugging sheepishly. "I may or may not have gotten a bit hungry earlier." He gave her a kind smile that didn't reach his eyes, and she all at once threw her arms around his neck, holding onto him tightly.
"Be careful tonight," she whispered.
"And make sure you don't wolf that chocolate down," Sirius said from somewhere behind the two.
"Yeah, we know how over the moon you can get about chocolate, but just take it easy," James added.
"Siriusly mate, we don't need you howling all over the place about how your stomach hurts," said Sirius, and the sound of a high five was heard after that one. Cleo heard Remus sigh in her ear.
"We know you're crazy fur chocolate, but you gotta watch yourself."
"But Remus, make sure you take care of yourself," James started, pretending to be completely concerned.
"And be positive," Sirius continued.
"Because you are a lyCANthrope, not a lyCAN'Tthrope," James finished, and the two began celebrating all around the room because they thought they had just made the best puns in the entire world.
"This is a really long hug," Cleo whispered in Remus' ear.
"You're keeping me from strangling both of them right now."

Ambrosia had gone up to the dorms early with Lily, and James, Sirius, Peter, and Cleo were all seated around the fire in the common room. The air was solemn, the wolf jokes completely run out. Cleo watched out the window as the full moon began to emerge from behind the clouds as she gave a sigh.
