"P.S. I forgive you"
It had been a month since Sirius and Cleo had moved in together, and domestic life was treating them well. Despite the fact that occasionally, they both wished they had Lily and James to go hang out with, they weren't tired of each other's company just yet.
It had been a month of learning and of loving despite themselves. It's never easy to all at once conjoin your life with someone else, but Cleo and Sirius found that loving each other was the easiest thing they ever had to do.
Waking up beside him was something she would never get tired of. She almost always woke up before he did, and she would revel in the peace that she found in the early morning, when his hair covered his face (before he had cut it, of course) and his breathing was heavy and occasionally he would nuzzle himself closer to her. She would catch the glint of the sun off of her ring as she reached to trace his jawline gently, and she would thank every star in the sky for getting her where she was.
They did almost all of life together. When they went shopping, they went together. When they had days where they were tired of being cooped up in the apartment, they went on strolls around the park, and some days when it was too rainy to go outside, they just stayed in bed.
At the end of February, Sirius had caught a cold. She had seen Sirius get sick before; he once had the flu in their 3rd year, but he stayed hidden in his dorm and she didn't see much of him. She just remembered Remus and James' utterly exhausted faces as they waited on his every beck and call.
The one time he had come down to the common room, he complained the whole time, and eventually, Remus lost his cool.
"I turn into a fucking wolf every month, and you can't handle a little stomach bug?"
She remembered laughing at the time, but now she knew why they had been so utterly annoyed: Sirius was a huge baby about being sick.
He moped around in bed and overly exaggerated every cough, sneeze, or sniffle. Cleo figured this was just something she was going to have to deal with from now on, but she couldn't help but laugh at him when he complained and tell him to suck it up.
On the fifth day of his being sick, he sat on the couch rather glumly, with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders and a cup of hot tea steaming in his hands. He had the record player going and it was playing an album by Queen softly in the background. Cleo had just finished putting her coat on and wrapping a scarf around her neck, as it was bitterly cold outside. She had to pop out for a bit to buy more medicine, tea, and tissues, as Sirius had cleaned out all that they had in their stash.
"I love you," he mumbled pitifully, sniffling. "Do you want me to come with?"
Cleo walked into the living room, throwing her bag over her shoulder. She leaned down and pecked his cheek, saying, "Of course not. You'll get even sicker if you go out there. And lord knows neither of us wants that." He rolled his eyes but smirked and watched her back as she went to the door.
