{i wish there was some way in heaven i could get you to forgive me}
Cleo hadn't found Skander, but she had accidentally ran into another Slytherin in the halls whilst looking for him.
"Sirius, I swear if you-" she stopped, however, when she glanced up at the person she had in fact ran into. "Oh," she muttered, at a loss for words. Very quickly, as if in a series of fast flashbacks, she saw the house, the dark library, the sneering faces, the flash of light, the pain.
Regulus Black also tried very hard to say something but could not. The girl he had been forced to watch tortured in her own home months prior was standing before him, and he couldn't say anything.
"Sorry," she said quietly, her eyes cast down to the ground as she all at once turned around and began to walk in the other direction. As she almost turned the corner, Regulus came out of his trans.
"Cleo!" he shouted, and she turned around hesitantly, a fear glimmering in her crystal blue eyes. "I-" he said, stopping in front of her. "I just... wanted to say that I'm..." he breathed deeply, looking more at his feet than the girl in front of him. "I'm sorry," he whispered, and all at once looked up.
His dark curly hair covered most of his eyes, but what little she could see were dark and full of tears. Cleo was taken aback to see the alleged Death Eater, the little brother of her best friend, crying in front of her, for her.
"Um... I have to go," Cleo mumbled, not knowing what else to say. His dark eyes seemed to creep into her very soul, and she felt she needed to get away from him, from everyone. The fact that he had apologized for what had been done meant nothing. Despite the fact that he himself hadn't done anything to her, he hadn't done anything to help her either. He was still there. He was used as a pawn in Voldemort's torture games and Cleo simply couldn't forgive him, or any of them for that matter.
She sprinted to a place where she could be by herself, running down the halls with tears in her eyes, and accidentally managed to run into more people. Well, two people this time.
"Woah woah woah," a male's voice called.
"Where's the fire?" an extremely similar voice added. Cleo shook her head to rid herself of tears as she looked up to face two nearly identical red-haired twins who were a year above her. She recognized them as the Prewett twins, Fabian and Gideon, although she couldn't tell them apart.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see you two there," she said quietly, growing nervous. She hated when people saw her cry.
"Well, that's alright," said one twin.
"Except now, you may have to do something for us," said the other. Cleo frowned.
"Do something for you? I only ran into you, it was an accident!"
"Yes love, that is true," nodded one of the twins.
"Except when you ran into us, you knocked into our lovely batch of Itching Eazzle powder," the other one shrugged, and Cleo looked at what the one twin was holding. It was a now empty small cauldron that had a strange white residue on the inside, and he tipped it over to show her. Cleo watched them both with wide eyes as they looked at her as though they were mentally preparing a funeral, and all at once, the itching began.
She looked down to find a powdery white substance coating her sweater, and she looked back up and glared. "Now what in the world were you two doing with this?" she began to scratch her nose.
"Well, we were going to go dump it on Lucius Malfoy at dinner, but this seems to be equally as entertaining," the first one grinned mischievously. Cleo couldn't stop scratching herself now. It started on her face and began spreading like a horrible wildfire, or a deadly disease. Her whole body grew hot and uncomfortable and she couldn't stop itching. The twins watched her, snickering in the hall as she turned in circles to try to itch herself.
"How do I make it stop?" she whined, looking at them with pleading eyes. The twins looked at one another and she all at once began to fear their answer.
"First you have to take off that sweater."
"And you might also want to take off your jeans."
"I am not stripping in the middle of the hall," she shouted, aggressively scratching at her stomach.
"It was worth a try Gid," one of the redheads shrugged at the other.
"That it was, Fab, that it was."
"Will you two just help me?" Cleo groaned.
"Well we tried to, you wouldn't take our advice-"
"Is there any other way to get it off?" she desperately asked.
"You could always jump into the Black Lake," the one she now knew as Gideon replied, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Yes that could work," Fabian muttered.
"No one has done that yet, have they?" Gideon grinned. Then the matching pairs of green eyes turned to her, and she knew she was in for it.
