The new year came quickly, and the gang spent the evening playing games and drinking, and James even let off a few of his fireworks as they rang in 1981.
Unfortunately, with the new year coming, it also meant James and Lily and Harry would be leaving soon.
On January 1st, James and Lily were busy packing their things, so Sirius and Cleo offered to hang out with Harry. Remus had left a few days prior for the full moon, and Peter hadn't been seen since Christmas, as he said he was busy finding a job somewhere.
So Sirius and Cleo sat in the living room, playing games with Harry and trying to keep him occupied so that Lily and James could work.
"Harry, who do you love more, me or Cleo?" Sirius asked as he held Harry up on his feet. Harry let out an incoherent groan, and Sirius nodded. "Of course it's me, good answer." Cleo looked up from a book she was skimming through and glared.
They played with some building blocks, Sirius trying to build a tower and Harry continuously knocking it over and laughing. Cleo grinned at the sight of them, and laughed when they started playing a game called that Harry liked, which involved him laying on Sirius and smacking him in the face. Then, Sirius would turn into a dog and use his nose to roll Harry over, which made him giggle. Harry liked the dog version of his godfather, and kept pulling on his ears.
After a while, Harry got bored and went back to his blocks, and Sirius, still a dog, padded over to the couch and rested his head in Cleo's lap.
"Hello Snuffles," she grinned, patting his head. He glared and growled in disdain, biting her leg gently which caused her to yelp. "Rude," she groaned, and if the dog could grin, he would be. He hopped back over to Harry and turned back, blowing a kiss at Cleo from across the room.
Harry got sleepy and only wanted to be held by Sirius, so Cleo went to make lunch. When she came back, she found them both in a chair, with Harry in his arms as he spoke to him softly.
"You have to be good, and don't forget about me or Cleo, or uncle moony or wormtail okay?" he whispered. "It won't be long. We'll kick Voldemort's butt and then we'll all be back together again."
They were too cute for her to ignore, so she quickly ran to her room and grabbed her polaroid, snapping a quick photo. Sirius looked up with a smile after the flash went off, and she merely grinned. Later, she took the picture out and wrote in black pen:
