{i'm not really okay, but it's nothing new}

Saturday came all too quickly for Cleo's liking, and it was the day she was going to try out for the Quidditch team even though she had never before played Quidditch in her life. Her nerves rattled inside her, no matter how many times Lily and Ambrosia told her she would be fine.

"Seriously, if you're as good as James has been bragging about all week, you'll make the team no problem," Ambrosia nodded, shoving a mouthful of scrambled eggs into her mouth. "If it helps, we'll all be in the stands cheering you on."

"And really, you can't be much worse than the blokes who cheated the whole game. I mean, at least you're not riding a tampered broom or playing while on some weird athletic potion," Indie said.

"Yeah! If they can get on the team, then you definitely can," Peter added. That didn't help at all.

The day was slightly overcast, but it didn't look to be raining yet. A light fog was still settled on the Quidditch pitch due to it being only 8 o clock in the morning. Apparently, James wanted everyone to be falling asleep on their brooms for tryouts. Or at least, Cleo. Everyone around seemed chatty and eager to start, but as Cleo stood leaning against her borrowed broom, her eyes started to droop and she nearly fell over.

"Alright guys! Welcome to this year's Quidditch tryouts," James clapped his hands energetically. "We're pretending that the last one didn't happen," he added. Sirius stood behind him with his hands in his leather jacket pockets and his hair blown by the wind. Cleo heard some girls on the other side of the group sigh dreamily, and she couldn't help but agree.

"Hey Black, are you trying out this year?" a boy asked.

"Nah, I'm just here for support," he said, and looked to Cleo and gave her a wink. She smirked and shook her head.

"Alright well, obviously since I'm captain this year," James said arrogantly, "I get to pick who's on my team and who doesn't make the cut-"

"You didn't do a very good job of it last time," a pimply-faced 4th year shouted. James rolled his eyes.

"I had no idea what those blokes were gonna be doing  once I put them on the team, so don't blame me," James glared before he closed his eyes and shrugged. "and for that comment, you better be the best buggin' Quidditch player since Joscelind Wadcock to make the team now." Cleo put her face down and snickered, catching Sirius' eye as he too tried to hold in a laugh. The 4th year's face went red, but he looked more angry than anything else, and Cleo made sure not to get on his bad side today, or any day for that matter.
