{there isn't really a right and a wrong with us. it's more what we want to do, and what others think we shouldn't}

"I swear to merlin, if either of you look," she threatened at the two boys who were both turned around so that their backs faced her, their hands innocently covering their eyes as she stood at the water's edge of the Black Lake. The sun was beginning to set, and she knew that if they were caught, she would be in for a whirlwind of trouble, but her skin was beginning to bleed from her incessant scratching, and it needed to be done.

"We won't look love," Gideon shouted.

"Unless of course you tell us we can," Fabian hinted.

"Not happening," Cleo scoffed, and quickly ripped off her sweater before diving into the lake before anyone saw. Sure, she still had a bra on, but there was no way she was going to give those two gits even the slightest bit of a show.

At the sound of the splash, the twins turned around and took their hands off their eyes.

"How's the water feel, doll?" Fabian asked her.

"Brilliant," Cleo surfaced and sighed, feeling instant relief in the burning of her skin. She swam around a moment longer, rubbing her skin to make sure she was rid of the awful itching powder.

"Did you two make that stuff?" Cleo asked them. They had both sat on the shore, putting their feet in the water slightly and watching the dark haired girl swim around.

"We did," Gideon beamed proudly.

"Does it work?" Fabian snickered.

"I don't know, why don't you dump some on yourself and find out," Cleo rolled her eyes.

"Ooh, a sassy one, she is," Gideon said to his brother.

"I like her already," Fabian replied. Then, simultaneously, they spoke. "We're going to keep you."

"I suppose its too bad I'm not a dog you can own, then," Cleo laughed. Despite their annoying antics, she liked the twins, and thought they were funny company.

"So, lovely girl," Gideon began, "want to tell us why you were running through the halls crying?"

Cleo stopped swimming around and simply treaded water for a moment, staring at the water's edge with a blank expression. She knew that she shouldn't, but she hated keeping every emotion she felt bottled up and to herself.

"I ran into someone I knew, who said something that brought back memories I didn't want to think about," she said warily.

"Ah, a tragic backstory," Fabian slapped his brother's shoulder. "You know doll, that's how superheroes are made."
