"Hold me and I'll pretend to be okay"

Cleo was dreaming. She was walking through a dark corridor of her old house. The echoes of small girls giggling was haunting the silence, making the scene all the more eery. She heard the laughing from behind her, and turned quickly to see a dark haired little girl run past.

"Who's there?" she called out, cursing herself for being stupid as soon as she did it.

"Knock knock," a little girl squeaked, giggling again. Cleo opened her mouth to answer as she continued to walk down the hall that seemed to never end, but another voice interrupted her. A slightly deeper, yet still adolescent voice said, "Who's there?"

The first girl giggled again. "Banana."

"Banana who?" the second girl asked.

"Knock knock!" This continued for what felt like infinity. Cleo continued to walk, noticing that the hallway just seemed to get longer and longer. The joke was echoing through her mind from every direction, the little girls' giggles emanating from every room in the house. She turned to the right, and came immediately to the base of the stairs which she knew, realistically, were not where they actually were. The two little girls stood before her, watching her.

It was Renesme and herself. They wore matching dresses, and Ren stood a couple inches taller than her younger self did.

"Who are you?" the younger version of her asked.

"I-um..." Cleo tried to say, but her tongue got stuck. Before she could answer, they both started to run up the stairs, going at a speed that was far too fast for their little legs. Almost as if they teleported, they stood again at the top of the stairs and looked down at her the same way they did before.

"Who are you?" she asked again. The young version of Ren began to walk into the library.

"No, don't go in there!" Cleo finally got to say, watching as her younger self followed her sister, just as she always used to do. Cleo tried to walk up the stairs but her feet wouldn't move.

The two little girls came out of the library again, arms raised with wands pointed directly at her. Both of their sleeves were rolled up past their elbows. On their small little arms were the dark tattoos of the snake symbol of the Dark Lord, and the little Cleo also had her branded scars on her other arm.

"Who are you!" younger Cleo screamed at the older one, whose eyes were wide as she stood, frozen. The house seemed to shake and groan, and a terrible hissing noise emanated from the library that faintly resembled a spine-chilling laughter. The young Ren stayed quiet, pointing her wand down at Cleo while her little sister beside her continued to scream the words "who are you" over and over again, each time louder and more gut wrenching than the last. The house started to crumble to the ground, the wooden beams holding the stairs falling, the sound of glass breaking, and Cleo was stuck between her sister's wand and her own question.
