{time to move mountains}

No one but Sirius and Cleo knew about that dreadful night on the Astronomy tower, and they both collectively agreed to keep it that way.

Cleo, after much deliberation, decided that she had better try to move on from her long lasting crush on Sirius, which now, he was making extremely difficult. He watched her like a hawk, always staying by her side, and usually needing to physically keep a touch on her to make sure she didn't disappear from underneath his fingertips. Of course, it always sent Cleo into a frenzy of heightened senses, goosebumps, and heart palpitations, but he had no idea of that effect.

Or at least, that's what she thought. Sirius in fact, had noticed, that every time he was around, her eyes brightened. Every time he grabbed her hand and squeezed it, he could hear her breath hitch. The goosebumps that erupted on her skin when their shoulders or their legs would brush never usually went unnoticed either. He always thought back to the conversation he accidentally listened to in his dog form, and then the talk he and Cleo shared that same night, where they both agreed there were no feelings for each other.

Obviously, they were both lying.

"Hello students," Professor McGonagall greeted as she swept into the classroom in her green robes. All of the desks were pushed against the walls, creating a large, open working space in the middle where all the students gathered. Sirius had gotten pulled away by Morwena, who was whispering quickly to him. He watched her go off on her tangent with raised eyebrows and a bored expression. Luna tried to say something to comfort Cleo, but she shook it off with a smile. After all, she was tired of chasing after someone who would never love her like she did.

That night, standing on top of the Astronomy tower, made her realize that she needed to be alive. She didn't want to die, and she certainly wasn't ready to go through what little of life she may have stuck in a loop of pain and heartbreak. She was ready to turn over a new leaf, grow up a bit, and begin to moving mountains, and while seeing Sirius with her still hurt, she was worrying more now about mending herself first. She was going to focus on her school, her friends, and the battle to defeat the sister, who made her feel so broken in the first place.

"Today, we will be learning to produce the patronus charm," McGonagall said. The class collectively gasped and murmurs of excitement filled the air before McGonagall shushed them. "Now, it is a difficult charm, so everyone must pay close attention."

When McGonagall lifted her wand into the air, she said in her usual confident, even tone, "Expecto patronum!" and as soon as she did, a silvery white light beamed from the tip of her wand. It took the shape of a cat and began to stalk around the students elegantly, occasionally rubbing up against some students affectionately as it passed. Cleo looked at it, eyes wide with a smile on her face as it passed by her and rubbed its head against her shoulder. She laughed, and looked up to find Professor McGonagall smiling at her.
