As soon as they got reached the sandy shore, he could see the colors of a building fire in the distance.

"Do you think Steve and Mary are okay?" Emily asked.

"I don't see why they wouldn't be." Loki answered. He listened for a moment as they walked closer. "They are at the bonfire."

"Looks like they beat us then," Emily chuckled. As they got closer she could hear Mary laughing and Tony talking.

Loki rolled his eyes when he heard Tony. "I'm really not fond of him." He muttered.

"I know you're not. But if it weren't for him, we wouldn't be here," Emily pointed out.

"A fact that is a constant annoyance to me." Loki muttered.

Emily gently pulled Loki to a stop before they got in earshot of the others. "Baby, I don't want you two to argue the whole night."

"We aren't going to. I will keep those thoughts to myself." Loki promised.

"Okay." She smiled up at him then continued to walk, turning to smile at Mary and Nat once she noticed they were there.

"There you are! Come sit with us!" Mary called out to Emily and Loki. .

"Sorry, our shower ran long and we got talking and lost track of time," Emily told her as she sat adjacent to them.

"It's alright, we just didn't know if you'd come out." Mary replied.

"We were both excited about the bonfire and didn't want to miss it," Emily assured.

"Do you want to make smores? Steve went to grab everything." Mary told them.

Emily's face brightened. "That sounds good."

"Don't eat too many," Bruce commented. "I'm not grilling for nothing," he chuckled.

"What is grilling?" Loki asked curiously..

"It's what we call it when we cook over an open flame or with coals," Bruce explained happily.

"Like cooking over a campfire?" Loki asked, wanting a comparison he was familiar with.

Bruce smiled and nodded. "Exactly."

"That's a good way to cook." Loki agreed.

"It's our favorite way to cook when we're able," Bruce told him as he flipped over a steak.

"It's mine as well." Loki replied.

Emily smiled as she roasted her marshmallow over the fire, happy to listen to Bruce and Loki talk back and forth. "Just remember I like my steak medium rare Banner."

"What makes them rare or common?" Loki asked curiously.

"It's how well done the meat is cooked," Bruce explained before Emily could. "Rare is closer to raw while well done is completely cooked all the way through the meat."

"I want mine fully cooked please." Loki told

Bruce grinned. "No problem Loki."

Emily assembled her s'more and took a bite of it, getting chocolate on her mouth in the process. "I have missed these."

Loki watched Emily then began roasting his marshmallow. "Are these sweet?"

"Very... and sticky," Emily answered as she licked her lips. "They burn easy though."

Loki carefully roasted the marshmallow, then assembled his s'more. When he took a bite, the melted sweets got on his lips and fingers. "It's delicious but messy."
