Girls' day had been a huge success, and the rest of the trip was amazing. They went snorkeling, fishing, and whale watching. The group had also gone for a hike all together, which made them a bit closer, having to work together to cross some of the obstacles that they came across.
But now, sitting on the plane home, Emily looked out the window at the clouds while Loki read a book beside her. She smiled at all of the memories that had been made the past couple of weeks, but she was eager to get home, even if it would be cold.
She looked over at Loki with a fond smile, seeing that he was in his own world reading The Lord of the Rings, a book she'd bought him while out shopping. I hope that Jarvis can give me an answer about how to talk to Frigga. I want to ask her about Loki's worries.
By the time the jet landed, Loki had finished his book and had fallen asleep in a hunched down position so his head could be on Emily's shoulder.
"It's so hard to believe he's an all powerful god when he's asleep. He looks almost childlike." Mary softly commented to Emily, sitting across the aisle from them.
Emily chuckled and nodded. "He's a big softy." She turned and kissed his cheek while running one hand through his hair. "We're home baby."
Loki yawned and sat up. He took a moment to look around and get his bearings. "Are there more of those books? I quite enjoyed that one."
"Yes. I can order you the rest of the series if you'd like," she answered, watching him unbuckle his belt and stand.
"I would like that very much. Can they be put directly into the tablet thingy?" Loki asked as he stretched.
Emily smiled as she stood, got their carry-on bags, and followed Loki off the plane. "Yes, I can get them for your tablet."
"I will get the bags darling. I just wanted a moment of fresh air before I send them to the room." Loki said when he looked behind him to see Emily.
"I don't mind carrying them," Emily replied, but let Loki take them from her anyway. "Are you eager to get back home?"
"I'm not having you carry the bags." Loki said, rolling his eyes. He waved his hands over the bags and made them vanish. "Now that we are this close, yes."
Emily chuckled as they climbed into the back of one of the cars Tony had valet for them. "I'm happy to come home too... even if it's cold."
"I was sad to leave, but now that we're here, I'm glad to be back. Does that make sense?" Loki asked as he slid in next to Emily.
"It does," Emily nodded. "We were having a lot of fun on the island, but everyone needs to return to work at some point."
Loki nodded in agreement. "I agree. I hope we can do another trip in the future though."
"We will," Emily assured. "We normally have one once or twice a year."
"That sounds nice. Do we go to the same place every time?" Loki asked curiously.
"Either the island or a resort that Tony finds," Emily answered as she looked over at him.
"Maybe the resort next time then?" Loki suggested. "It was really nice on the island. I didn't feel so... well, like the outcast." He softly admitted.
"I think you bonded with the guys a bit more on the island," Emily told him. "Steve sent us a video," she giggled.
"He never took a video. We were all right there the entire time." Loki said, feeling confused. "It was nice to feel like a part of the group, if only for a short time." Loki said truthfully.
