Loki was laying in bed still, but screaming at a nurse that had come in on the normal rounds to check on him. "Get out!" He yelled at her, trying to fight her off when she tried to take his vitals.

Emily could hear him screaming from down the hallway, which only made her keep running until she reached his room, out of breath. She burst through the door and put her hands on her knees, gasping in lungfuls of air. "Loki!" she hollered. "Please let her do her job."

"No! I said only you can come in! Get her out of here! NOW!" He snapped angrily, making the nurse step back in fear.

Emily stood straight and narrowed her eyes at him. "I know you're injured and I know I am who you trust. But I am right here. I cannot do everything they need to do because they are not going to let me without Mr. Stark's permission." She walked up to the other side of the bed. "All she's going to do is check your oxygen level, your blood pressure, and your heart rate. Nurse Hanson is not going to hurt you."

"She is going to leave or she can stand off to the side and instruct you on how to do... whatever it is. Those are the only options." He said firmly.

She sighed and looked at the nurse. "Can you page Mr. Stark and ask if I can be Loki's only attending?"

The nurse nodded and hurried out to make the call, terrified of being in the room any longer. When she returned, she stepped just inside the door. "He approved the request."

"Thank you," she said with a polite smile. "Please make sure that everything I will need is close at hand. I promise to keep a chart of everything."

"Yes ma'am." She said and laid out everything needed to take Loki's vitals. As soon as she was done, she stepped back to be fully out of the way.

Emily nodded and walked around to the other side of the bed and rubbed Loki's arm, hoping it would calm him. "I'm going to take your vitals okay?" She wrapped a blood pressure cuff around his arm. "I'm going to squeeze this ball and this will tighten on your arm. It will be uncomfortable, but it won't hurt you," she explained.

"Just get it over with. I'm tired and sore." Loki muttered, but relaxed and didn't try to fight her. He did however watch very closely.

"It won't take long, then you can sleep," she said soothingly as she took his blood pressure, then wrote it down in his chart. Then she quickly did the rest of the things needed and filled out his chart. "Everything is elevated but I think it's due to stress," he let the nurse know and handed off his chart.

The nurse took his chart and turned to leave, then stopped. "We will need to know what he wants for dinner. I will be back in twenty minutes to get his meal order." She told Emily, then quickly left.

Emily nodded, then sat in the chair that sat against the wall. This is going to bring my stress level to an all time high. She ran her hands through her hair then rested her head against the wall. "The food menu is on your little table," she said as she pointed to the table that was within his reach.

"Good to know... read it to me." He told her and laid his head back on the pillow.

"Can you read English writing?" she asked as she tiredly stood and walked around the bed and retrieved the laminated menu. "What do you like to eat?"

"Of course I can't. It just looks like gibberish to me." He mumbled. "I don't know what I ate here last time, so just pick something."

"Let's see... there's fish with vegetables, there's meatloaf, chicken, a burger and fries, or you can get soup," Emily said, naming off food for him to choose from. "I can also get you fruit or ice cream too."
