When Emily woke next, it was to the sound of someone knocking on the apartment door. She grumbled and rolled over to hide under the blankets as she searched for Loki with her hand. "Jarvis, who is at the door?" She murmured.
"Mr. Stark is at the door." Jarvis responded a moment later.
"What does he want?" Emily grumbled in reply as she curled up to Loki's back to get warm once more.
"He wants to talk to you, but I can instruct him to return later." Jarvis answered.
She sighed and rested her head in-between Loki's shoulders. "Tell him to hold on." Emily slowly sat up, then bent to kiss Loki's shoulder as he still slept. Then she stood and walked to the bathroom and put on a robe before she walked in the living room and answered the door.
"Good morning." Tony greeted Emily. "Can I come in?"
"Umm... sure." Emily opened the door wider and let Tony walk in. "Loki is still asleep, so try not to be too loud."
Tony followed her inside, walked into the living room and sat down, sprawled on the couch. "Do you have any beer?"
Emily huffed and crossed her arms as she sat in the armchair adjacent to the couch. "No Tony, I don't."
"That's too bad. What about scotch?" He asked her.
"No Tony. I don't have any alcohol here. Is there something you need?" She asked.
"Yes, I need you to go to the Christmas party with me." Tony boldly replied.
Emily raised an eyebrow at him. "Why don't you ask Pepper?"
"If I wanted to go with Pepper, I would have asked her." Tony said simply.
"Tony I'm sorry, but after what happened I don't think being with you is a great idea," Emily said softly.
"It was one time and nothing had actually happened yet. Surely you can forgive one little mistake?" Tony challenged.
"A mistake that would happen again. I'm not someone you can push around Tony, I think you know that."
"No it wouldn't. I already told you that it wouldn't happen if you deny my needs." Tony pointed out.
Emily shook her head as she began to feel angry. "A relationship isn't all about you Tony. It is high time that you learn that. The answer is no." Besides I have found someone who is so much better.
"It wasn't all about me. You were treated like royalty. We went to the best parties, finest restaurants, I gave you the best that money could buy." Tony reminded her.
"Except your affection and real feelings," Emily countered as she looked down to the ground. "Everything isn't about money."
"Money does go pretty far though." Tony shrugged. "It's just one Christmas party."
Emily sighed. "Tony, I can't. Besides, I already have a date."
Tony raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Do tell."
"What is there to tell? I've already told someone else that I would go with them," Emily replied.
"Who are you going with?" Tony directly asked.
"His name is Luke. Why?" She questioned.
"What is his last name?" Tony asked, ignoring her questions.
"Tony stop badgering me about it. Are you jealous?"
"It's fine, Jarvis can find out for me." Tony shrugged, then stood up. "We can talk about it later." He said, then turned and left.
