Emily walked into the apartment with her garment bag over one arm while holding what was left of her shake and Loki's bag of food in the other. She turned and held the door open for Mary for her to come through, then turned and placed the bag of food on the kitchen counter along with the shake. "Well, that was a lot of fun. Now we just have to wait to get all dressed up in a couple of days," she said cheerfully.
"It was fun. I think we should do it more often again." Mary said, setting her shake down as well. "I'm kind of starting to get a little bit excited about the party."
"That's good to hear!" Emily cheered. "Let me put this in the bedroom closet, then I'll go check on Loki. What will you be up to?" she asked.
"I don't know yet. I might look over some of the charts and start to familiarize myself with them." Mary said with a little shrug.
"Jarvis can help you look up whatever you'll need. You have that kind of clearance now." Emily turned and walked into the bedroom and quickly hung up her dress on the far end of the closet. She returned to the kitchen and took a sip of her shake. "Will you be alright for a little bit while I go get him?"
"Of course I'll be alright. Just make sure you're back in time for dinner." Mary chuckled.
Emily rubbed her still full stomach. "That may be a while," she chuckled. "I'm still stuffed."
"I'm stuffed as well, so I was thinking about a light, simple dinner later when we are hungry again." Mary clarified.
"That sounds like a good idea," Emily replied and grabbed the bag of food from the counter. "I won't be gone too long," she added, then turned and quietly left the condo to head towards her office and check on Loki.
~~~~~~~~
Loki was finishing the full re-organization of the office when Emily arrived. Vocabulary and writing lessons were still playing on the monitor, in split screen so he could listen to multiple lessons at once. He was so caught up in his work that he didn't even hear Emily walk in the room.
Emily's eyes widened and couldn't help but to watch Loki work for a few moments. His fingers skillfully swept over the keyboard before he would turn and sift through the stack of papers next to him and put them into their respective filing area. "You are a fast learner," she praised quietly, hoping not to startle him.
Loki looked up, needing a second to pull himself from his thoughts. "Hello darling. Did you have a nice time out?" He smiled, then stood and walked around the desk to greet Emily with a gentle kiss.
She quickly returned his kiss, having missed the feeling of his lips, even if she hadn't been gone very long. "It was fun. We both picked out a dress, then went to eat at this amazing diner. I got you an avocado burger and fries. I hope you like them... but they might need to be reheated."
"Thank you darling. I am hungry, but I guess I didn't realize it until just now." Loki said truthfully. "I am nearly finished here, then we can go back to the room."
Emily sat down across from her desk and sat the bag of food on it before she took a sip of her shake. "You're learning so fast, you're gonna end up having your own office."
"I don't want my own office. I've worked so hard on fixing yours." Loki chuckled. He reached into his pocket and pulled out an ID badge for the tower. "Stark stopped by earlier. I'm an official employee now."
"Seriously!" Emily exclaimed with a wide smile. "He didn't throw a tantrum?"
"He was very unhappy about it, but said he always honors his agreements." Loki explained.
Emily smiled proudly. "Well, it serves him right. Now you'll have Midgard money you'll be able to spend."
"He gave me this other card and he says my money is on the card." Loki said, taking a debit card from his pocket.
