When they arrived back at the apartment, Loki walked into the kitchen to set their two grocery bags down. The store had been very unusual to him, but he was eager to go shopping again. "We can still make the cake tomorrow, right?" He asked Emily.
Emily smiled as she pulled off her coat, then bent to remove her shoes. "We can if you want to. I still need to find a dress for the party next week."
"Does that mean we get to go shopping again?" Loki asked, sounding both curious and excited.
"I need to. I don't think I have a dress that would really fit with the event," Emily replied.
"When can we go? Will it be all three of us?" He asked. Loki walked out of the kitchen to remove and hang his coat. "Mary needs a dress as well, right?" He asked Emily, since Mary was already walking into the kitchen.
"She will. Mary can come with us if she wants, unless she feels she already has something to wear," Emily explained, then turned and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm glad you had fun today."
Loki wrapped his arms around Emily's waist and pulled her close. "Your markets are unlike anything I have ever seen before. Your public feasts are also intriguing. I want to see more of this world." He said cheerfully.
Emily smiled up at him as she played with his hair. "You will. I plan on showing you things while you're here. I'd love to take a vacation while we can too, maybe see the countryside."
Loki nodded in agreement. "I would like that very much."
"I figured you would." Emily leaned up and pecked his lips softly. "The moving people should be here soon."
"Will they bring everything up here, or do we meet them out front?" Loki asked but showed no sign of letting go of Emily.
"I assume they'll bring it inside here. Especially the bookcases," she replied.
"Okay, that's good. I wasn't looking forward to trying to carry those right now." Loki admitted.
Emily shook her head. "I wouldn't have let you carry them."
"How would we have gotten them up here then?" Loki asked curiously.
"The movers bring them up on dollies," she explained. Emily ran her hands down his back just as the doorbell rang. "That's probably them."
Loki stepped around Emily and opened the door. "We're here to deliver the furniture. Is this the right apartment?" One of the men asked.
"Yes." Loki said simply and stepped aside for them.
"Mary! Where do you want your bookshelves?" Emily called out.
Mary hurried out of the kitchen. "Um... can they just go along the far wall for now?" She asked Emily. "I can always move them later."
Emily nodded and turned to the movers. "Put one on each side of the tv center. The boxes you can put in the entryway."
The men nodded and went right to work, unloading the dollies. "Come on, let's stay out of their way." Loki said. He took Emily's hand and walked into the kitchen with her.
"It won't take them long to get everything situated," Emily said. She perched herself on a barstool and leaned against the counter.
Mary walked in with them and finished putting the groceries away. "If you want to wait until the afternoon, I can go dress shopping with you." She told Emily.
"I would like that," Emily replied. "It will be nice to have both of you with me. Unless you want the dress to be a surprise, Loki." She swiveled in her seat and watched Mary put things away in the cabinets.
