Y/N BLINKED SLEEPILY, suddenly jolting awake when she realized where she was. Her eyes flitted to the clock briefly and then down at her baby who was resting against her chest, finished feeding as she slept peacefully. Heaving a big sigh, Y/n readjusted her baby before setting her into the bassinet beside her, brushing away a few strands of black hair that stuck to her forehead.

Setting her head back on the pillow, she drowsily looked towards the red button on her side, pressing it lightly. A small beep emitted and soon enough, a nurse was by her. "Can you call my husband for me? He's in my emergency contacts." She felt heartbroken saying something like that, her voice cracking midway as the nurse nodded politely, promising to bring water too.

Aizawa wasn't here.

They had talked about this for months and yet, he hadn't even shown up to his wife's labor. It had been four hours since their daughter was born and he hadn't held her, talked to her, or cried over her once. Y/n was too tired to even text or call him herself, but she remembered the nurses telling her they'd contact him while she was in labor.

Still, he wasn't here. Hell, Y/n had to get her older sister to drive her to the hospital. Her sister had managed to grab the baby bag when they had left, but she went back to her place to grab their things. "He said he'll be here soon, ma'am," The same nurse returned, a soft and almost apologetic smile on her lips as she handed Y/n a cup of water.

Y/n took it from her, tiredly smiling back at her before taking a sip from it. "Thank you," The nurse nodded again before disappearing behind curtains, probably going off to take care of another patient. Arms still sore, Y/n grunted as she reached for the phone that was set on the small table beside her, reading over her notifications briefly.

Midnight had sent her a few texts and so had Kamui Woods. Principal Nezu had called twice and surprisingly All Might, who she hadn't talked to much, had texted her five times wishing her luck and that 'you're strong, you'll do great!'. Somehow all of her friends had managed to be more supportive than her husband.

If she wasn't so tired, she'd be angry.

Closing her eyes, she fell asleep again. When she woke up, there was loud yelling going on in the background and she could hear the curtains shift and multiple footsteps. A familiar hand settled on her forehead and Y/n slowly fluttered her eyes open, first registering her husband, her fuming older sister to her left, and the little girl holding onto her husband's hand.

She blinked tiredly, moving to sit up as she inched away from Aizawa's touch, gladly letting her older sister help her up. "Y'know you're a real piece of work," Mina, Y/n's older sister, spoke bitterly. She made sure to avoid using any vulgar language, her eyes flitting to the young girl beside Aizawa and then him.

Aizawa's lips parted and then shut like he was a fish out of water. "Mina, can you give us a moment?" Mina looked at her little sister, glaring at Aizawa briefly before walking out, the curtains shifting loudly as she stomped into the hallway. "Y/n, I—" She completely ignored her husband's words, her eyes settling onto the little girl beside him.

"I really like your hair," Y/n smiled warmly at her. Eri perked up, seeming tempted to open up to her before shying away, taking a step back to hide by Aizawa's side. "I'm Y/n, his wife," She jabbed a thumb at Aizawa, the sweet and welcoming smile never leaving her lips. Eri looked up at Aizawa for permission as he nodded reassuringly, making her speak up.

"I-I'm Eri,"

Y/n blinked tiredly, wiping the sleep away from her eyes. "That's a really pretty name, Eri. Listen, my older sister is outside and she'd love to play a game with you. I promise nothing will happen, okay? Mina is a great older sister and I only have to talk to Aizawa for a few minutes. Can you do that for me?"

Eri looked up at him for permission again and Aizawa could sense what was coming, swallowing harshly as he looked at his wife before nodding at Eri once more. He led her out to the hall where Mina waited, introducing the two before walking back in to talk to his wife. "You weren't here," Her voice was hollow, making her sound shattered.

Aizawa's eyes softened at her and then at the sight of their baby, his hands already reaching to pick up the small child. "Minari," He mumbled. They had already chosen a name months ago, but it felt even more rewarding to finally put a name to the face. Y/n nodded, tears pooling in her eyes.

"You promised,"

"I'm sorry, love,"

"Are you really?"

Aizawa heaved a big sigh and Y/n's eyes flitted towards his face, recognizing the tired look in his eyes (there always was one). "I've been trying to figure out Eri's custody and on top of that, I had to watch her today and I was bailed out on. I can't leave her alone for long otherwise she has a panic attack. . . " He mumbled quietly.

Y/n looked at him. "Still, your own daughter—"

"—I know that."

There were a few moments of silence and Y/n watched as he tearfully held Minari, bouncing her in his arms and pulling her closer to his chest. "For the custody thing. . . I say we take custody of her," She spoke quietly. Aizawa blinked in surprise, quickly setting Minari down back into her bassinet before looking at his wife.

"Are you serious?"

"You already treat that girl as your own daughter, I'd say another doesn't hurt."

She smiled tiredly at him and he let out a sigh of relief, glad that his wife wasn't too angry. He kissed her forehead and as he was about to pull away to bring Eri back in, Y/n grasped his wrist, looking at him menacingly. "I'm still upset by the way, but I'm in too much pain to do anything. When I'm fully recovered, I'll kick your ass."

Aizawa swallowed harshly, smiling apologetically.

"Noted."
