"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Y/n paused, freezing as she came back to the kitchen. Currently, she was stress baking. Their finals were coming up and she tended to bake whenever she was in a stressed state, something that the others had realized during their first year in Alliance Heights. Now, they were further into their second year.

She had just walked out to toss her apron into the laundry basket, coming back with another only to see Todoroki cracking an egg. The yolk slowly dripped into the bowl as he turned around. "I saw you baking and wanted to help," His tone was innocent and monotone as he blinked at the h/c haired girl.

Her heart pitter-pattered in her chest. Y/n and Todoroki had shared a few moments; ranging from seven minutes in a closet, a dare for her to sit on his lap, and the day that 1-A went into the pool which ended with Y/n nearly losing her bikini when his hand pulled one of the straps by accident. However, both of them were too awkward to ever bring it up.

She walked over, looking over the paper of instructions before glancing at him. "You sure you're following the instructions? You haven't touched anything, have you?" Another thing to mention is that Y/n was very meticulous when it came to her baking; if she was in the kitchen, there were very extreme precautions made when you walked in and when you walked out.

Even Aizawa was forced to follow them.

Shoto's lips formed a small smile as he watched the shorter girl walk away, washing her hands carefully before reading the instructions again. "No, I haven't. I was just preparing the eggs in a separate bowl," He said, lifting a finger to point over her shoulder. She pinked at the proximity of their figures, watching where his finger landed.

In fact, Todoroki was right. Y/n smiled, chewing on her bottom lip. Maybe she'd lift some of the restrictions just for him. The two carried on baking as if it was no problem. That was until Y/n realized there was one issue with Shoto's assistance. His hands. Sometimes she'd touch the bowl of ingredients he'd just mixed and shiver from the cold.

At first, she inferred that it was her just imagining things and her hands were being weird, but after realizing that there was a core difference between which one of Todoroki's hands it came from, she screamed. "OH MY GOD, WAIT STOP!" Y/n yelled dramatically, the male immediately freezing in place as he stared at her with wide eyes.

She wrenched the bowl of wet ingredients from him, looking in the bowl to see little bubbles in the mixture. It was definitely not from mixing the eggs and water together as she watched smaller bubbles emerge while others popped. "Did I do something wrong?" He quietly asked, brows pulled together in a confused manner.

Y/n was about to scold him, but froze at the look on his face. Shoto looked like a little child, his heterochromatic eyes boring into hers innocently. She gulped and immediately shook her head. "N-No, I just realized your hands affect the ingredients slightly because of their different temperatures." A frown shaped his lips as she took the other bowl from him.

She watched as the boy began to take off the apron he borrowed from her. Her hand darted to his wrist and he paused, staring at her surprisedly. Y/n cursed herself in her head, not even knowing what she had just done. YOU LITTLE— The h/c haired girl took in a deep breath, a sheepish smile shaping her lips.

"I-I s-still need your help,"

Shoto blinked before nodding, fixing his apron. After mixing the cake batter together, pouring it into two separate pans, and tossing the pans in the oven, the two got ready to make the frosting. Y/n was in charge of preparing the rest of the ingredients while Todoroki stood, a bowl in his left hand as the stick of butter softened inside it.

The frosting came together quickly too as they alternated between adding ingredients and mixing. "Taste it," Y/n said challengingly, happy about her concoction as she waved her frosting covered finger towards the bowl. Todoroki boldly reached for her hand, licking her sugary finger lightly as her cheeks grew warm.

"It tastes nice," He commented softly, turning his attention back to cleaning up their mess. She stared at him with big eyes, shaking her head as her entire face turned red. As soon as the cakes came out, Y/n set them on Todoroki's arm. The male was hardly bothered, his arm already iced over as it cooled the desserts much faster.

Y/n cheered, pressing her fingers against the metal pans hesitantly before plucking them off his arm. He watched her curiously, staring as she cut off a thin layer of each cake, leveling them off smoothly. She then asked for the frosting and he swiftly passed that over, staring at her as she went back to work.

She frosted in between the layers, setting one of the cakes on top of the other before wiping the frosting against the side of the cake. Soon enough, the entire cake was coated in sweet white frosting. "Ah, it came out so good!" Y/n chirped, cutting a slice for both her and Todoroki. He hesitantly took a bite, a smile spreading across his face as she carefully watched his expression.

"It's really good, Y/n."

Y/n grinned widely. "That's because you helped me, Todoroki!"

"Shoto," He blurted.

"Huh?" She stared at him confusedly, eating another bite of the cake.

"Call me Shoto," A soft expression shaped his features as he looked down at her, smiling gently. She looked up at him, turning pink. "Okay, Shoto," Y/n pronounced, beaming back at the sight of his upturned lips. Their hearts pitter-pattered in their chests as they talked occasionally, eating the cake quietly as they remarked each others' hard work.

Y/n smiled, watching him take another slice. Maybe this relationship won't be full of just desserts.
