Y/N BLINKED TIREDLY, leaning her head back against the wall as the club lit up with neon lights. Her, along with most young heroes, were celebrating after they managed to stop a villain in the city today. You could call it upscale for a bunch of young heroes, but it'd been a while since they went out for a drink like this, so it was a win-win.
She swirled the drink in her hand with a tired sigh. She was happy to go out with her friends, but her muscles ached and she wanted nothing more than to go home. However, the choice was between relaxing for a bit or going home with little to no strength in her body, so she opted for chilling in the bar.
"I'm surprised you're still here," A smooth blond said, averting his eyes to Y/n as he walked towards her, fixing his rings after coming out of the bathroom. Yes, out of all conventional places, Y/n stood near the bathroom. It sounded weird, but she stayed there because the flashing lights avoided that area and it was less crowded.
Y/n scoffed, sipping her drink. "What makes you so surprised about that?"
"You're usually the first of us to leave and when we usually make plans, you don't show."
Her mood dampened at his words as she glanced down at her drink, her hair falling over her face briefly as she sighed. "Yeah, sorry about that." She had been bouncing between so many other cities in Japan because of the smaller incidents that most of the higher-up heroes didn't look after. People like Rumi and Keigo were meant for major cities like Musutafu.
Y/n mainly looked after the villages, smaller cities, and recovering ones on other islands of Japan. "It's fine, we get it. We're just glad you were able to show up this time." He said, golden eyes glancing into her e/c ones as she lifted her head to look at him. She chewed on her bottom lip, "If you're bitter, just say it."
Keigo stared at her, their eyes locking as the tension slowly rose. A small smile shaped his lips as he laughed softly, "Okay, you caught me. It has been bugging me that you keep flaking on us like that," His eyes narrowed at her as she watched him slightly tense, her back pressing further against the wall behind her.
"I'm sorry about that, but none of the other heroes seem to care about the villages or recovering cities."
"I would if I could—"
"—then I can say the same about myself."
They had inched their faces closer together, teeth grit as their noses were centimeters away from touching. It was clear that they were both angry at each other, but the distance between them gave them no clear opportunity to communicate about it. Rumi, catching sight of the situation, slid off her barstool, her white hair swishing behind her.
"Are you two done arguing yet? Just knock it off. Both of you were so busy, but finally have some time together, so just appreciate it." She said, already done with their childish bullshit. Keigo turned, glancing at Rumi hesitantly. The white-haired female glared back at him, her muscular arms crossed.
Y/n didn't say anything, taking another sip from her drink as her head began to buzz from the alcohol. Keigo sighed, caving in as the pro-hero nodded approvingly as she made her way back to the barstool she was sitting on earlier. "So, are we going to have a normal conversation?" The blond looked over at her.
However, he was taken aback when her slender fingers brushed against his cheek. He flushed, looking down at her as she slowly began to rub a part of his eyelid. "Your eyeliner smudged a bit," Y/n replied softly, about to pull her hand away as Keigo quickly caught it, keeping it on his cheek. She bit her lip, looking up at him as he stared back at her.
