Don't you know I'm no good for you?
I've learned to lose you, can't afford to
Tore my shirt to stop you bleedin'
But nothin' ever stops you leavin'
MIRIO WAS AN ANGEL, and like all angels, he had wings. They were white and spanned wide across his figure, making any mortal seem like an ant in comparison to his broad feathers. However, unlike the others, he was born with a defect. Or rather, created with a defect. Rather hastily created on God's day of rest, his wings were brittle.
They were weak in comparison to make up for the immense size of them; what they lacked in strength he attempted to make up for through testing his own endurance, but even that proved to be fruitless. He had attempted to fly to the sun so many times, merely out of curiosity. Although he knew that his wings could never carry him that far, one could only hope.
It was only one day in which one of his greatest friends, Tamaki Amajiki, had been kind enough to lend him a contraption. He claimed that this would strengthen his wings alone and allow him to fly distances that were a mere figment of his imagination at first. Miraculously, it worked, and in order to quench that curiosity of his, he chose his first destination: the sun.
Quiet when I'm comin' home and I'm on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
He had found it. Or rather, her. Curled into herself, the sun had a soft glow around her. Her lips were puckered as she dreamt about something that Mirio couldn't comprehend, eyes closed in a relaxed manner as she leaned into the clouds. Is this a dream? He reached out his hand, blue eyes staring at her before he reeled it back.
The heat had kissed his hand before he had even realized, his eyes flitting to the bright red that decorated the palm of his hand. "I'm sorry," He looked up, his eyes meeting the sun. Warmth. That was all he felt in that moment; his heart swelling with warmth as his lips couldn't help but shape a smile at the sight of her.
She was beautiful.
He understood now why so many people appreciated the sun, calling her pretty during sunrises, sunsets, and even in her simplest presence. "You are an angel; angels aren't allowed this far," Although her statement seemed to be declining of his curiosity, her voice was soft and she seemed to study him as well.
Her words were sterner when she spoke again, "You should go home."
"Is it alright if I come back tomorrow then?" His smile was bright, eyes flickering with admiration. Her own heart wavered at the idea and she had no idea why. For some reason, she seemed to have an interest in him as well. With a dip of her head, she nodded, and he grinned widely before bidding her goodbye, disappearing into the clouds.
Don't you know too much already?
I'll only hurt you if you let me
Call me friend but keep me closer (call me back)
And I'll call you when the party's over
"Do you have a name?"
"No one has ever given me one," The sun spoke. Her tone was sad, forcing his own lips into an empathetic frown as he tilted his head to the side. Mirio tilted his head to the side, looking down upon the humans that seemed like little ants from their positions. "How about Y/n? It's a pretty name. . . I forgot where I heard it before."
