HE SHOULD FEEL HAPPY, he should feel proud. Everyone generally agreed that he had done a great job in response to such an unexpected attack. Even the leaders of the Commission President found his course of action to be the best. So why were you sitting there with such a displeased look on your face?

At the table he sat around, you were directly across from him. Your arms were crossed over your chest, your eyes shut so you couldn't see him staring so intensely. You could probably feel it though, you always did. While your expression seemed pretty neutral at first glance, he had spent enough time staring that he could see the corner of your lips tilted slightly downward.

Or perhaps his mind had only made that up.

"You've been awfully quiet L/n. What do you have to say about this?" Your eyes opened as you glanced at the President, completely ignoring his gaze on you. The hands that had previously been crossed over your chest went to the paper in front of you, as if you needed to look at it to think of something to say. You probably had the speech in your pretty little head all meeting.

"Hmm, I think all of this could have been avoided."

Here you go again, berating him as if it was natural. And for you, it just might be. Keigo rolled his eyes, something that did not go unnoticed by you, preparing for your onslaught of critique. The President leaned forward, curious as to what you had to say. But when was she not, always wanting your opinion, her brilliant little apprentice.

He was convinced that your relationship with the President had to be the reason you become an executive so quickly. But that probably sounded hypocritical coming from him because honestly, you two were exactly alike.

You had graduated high school early, even managing to land an internship at the Commission which was probably the reason you worked here today. You had caught the President's interest ever since then. Being considerably younger than every other executive, you stuck out easily. You were probably no older than he was which made it all the more infuriating.

You were like a feminine, non-hero version of himself. Compared to everyone else in the Commission, you were most similar to him.

So why couldn't you just be on his side for once?

He was ready to drown out everything you had to say. It got repetitive, and annoying, at a point. 'Blah blah, irresponsible, blah, too childish, blah blah blah.' He was convinced the only thing you knew how to do with that pretty mouth of yours was talk. And you sure seemed to love doing that, as long as it was condescending.

"Incidents like these can be fully or partially avoided by not gathering so much public attention. When he does things like that it draws unwanted onlookers and gathers large amounts of people into one area, putting them at risk." You dropped the papers in your hand, looking down at your freshly done manicure instead. "Given the pattern of recent attacks he should by now realize he is a target."

Almost as if to mock you, Keigo began to look down at his nails. He was slightly irritated by the fact that you didn't speak to him but rather about him like he wasn't right fucking there. But he knew he had to remain calm, nothing good would come out of arguing with you. "I can't really control the people that try to get close to me. Having fans is part of being a well-known and liked hero."

He almost wanted to smirk at the glare you immediately directed towards him. Irritating you on purpose could be fun but he had to keep it discreet for the most part. Dropping your hand, you leaned forward. "Hmm, I guess that is true but seeing how much you care about your adoring fans I would expect you to try and keep them a little safer."
