YOU SQUEEZED YOUR EYES SHUT, glancing out at the rainstorm that fit your mood a little too well. You had gotten tired. You were tired of staying up late at night worrying about Takami's well-being only for him to give you half-assed answers. You were tired of checking your phone to see him trending again for his tasks in the city when he couldn't be bothered to leave you a note.

You were tired of loving someone who wasn't in love.

And because you weren't like him, the least you could do was say something.

You would say something, take your packed bags, and go.

You weren't so pathetic as Keigo that you would leave a poorly written note (or none at all) and you felt written words wouldn't comprehend how exhausted you were. Your brain hated him, burbling with a fury that you wished you could gain the courage to unleash. Your eyes wanted to look at something else for once, pain from the constant tears and puffiness.

Your heart. . . your heart was something different.

Your heart twisted and turn and writhed just to feel something. Just to feel something again with the very man you fell in love with because no matter how much you denied it, you had an inkling of faith. You had hope that maybe he could change; that maybe he would realize your worth and start treating you like it, but your brain knew better.

Your eyes had seen it and your brain had processed it a million times over; he never would. Because although you were undeniably and irrevocably with the male named Takami Keigo, he was in love with someone else. He was in love with number two pro-hero Hawks; he was in love with his career.

You heard the door start to click behind you and you took in a deep breath, still feeling hesitant to even turn around and look. The creak of the wood was followed by the thumping of footsteps, faint scuffs ringing in the room as Keigo slipped off his shoes and jacket, setting them aside. "I'm home," His voice was rough.

You didn't say anything, nearly jumping when he had wrapped his arms around your figure. Keigo held you, letting his eyes dart around the room briefly before he turned his attention completely on you. He gently kissed your cheek and a breath you didn't know you were holding escaped you.

This was the first ounce of affection you'd gotten in months.

Keigo's grip tightened all of a sudden. He was always annoyingly observant and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why there were little to none of your trinkets scattered around the apartment you two called home. On top of that, your stuff was set right by the front door, set tidily next to one another like a neat domino set-up.

And just like a domino set-up, everything began falling apart.

"Please just stay," His voice was soft and pleading. However, he didn't need to look in your eyes to know that you weren't going to. The way that your body tensed in his arms was enough for him to finally pull away. It was a stupid attempt to gaze at your expression, but you were rigid, face void of any emotion.

"I don't want to stay for something that isn't worth it,"

"I can't make you stay, but can you please rethink this?" His voice cracked. Like water rocking the hull of a ship, the tone of his words made you pause. It made you freeze in your footsteps and question your actions; was it really enough to leave Keigo for? Could you really be that upset at him that you would be willing to walk out of his life forever?
