For Now

    You were the happiest person on Earth because when you woke up, you could feel a pair of strong arms around you. It was a new feeling, as you were used to being touch starved. You craved this attention, this is the type of attention that you needed. 

And the person you were getting this attention from was no short of being the man of your dreams. He was kind, caring, passionate, strong, and gentle. You would even have to pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming. 

You looked up. 

You weren’t. It was true. Judah was really there. Breathing gently, and holding you tightly, even in his sleep. It was shocking how tight his hold on you was, even in his sleep. It was as if even subconsciously, he was willing to protect you from the horrors of anything. Even the night itself. 

That was just one thing you loved about him. How he loved you, and he was willing to show it. Not with just words, but with his actions. That spoke well by itself. He was willing to spend less time at the school’s pool, just so he could spend time with you. That on it’s own was a huge sacrifice for Judah. 

He loved the water and sometimes you felt bad for getting him away from his passion. However he said it was something he did, to be with you. That he didn’t mind, but you still felt guilty. Thus most of your dates were at the school pool, or at the very least dates always have something to do with water.

   You didn’t mind as the thing you really loved was being with Judah, so you were willing to be near the water as much as he wanted to. And honestly, you had fun too. 

You could hear Judah’s heart start to race. You looked up to him, worried that something was wrong, but you were only met with a “sleeping” Judah. He had a pink tint painting his features, but his eyes were still closed. However eventually a cheeky smile gave him away.

“Hey! I know you’re awake!” His smile faded, as if he was trying to pretend to be asleep, even though you knew he was awake. 

“Come onnnn, just open your eyes.” You pleaded with him.

“I’ll only wake up, if by chance a little cutie decides to wake me up from my sleeping curse, with a kiss.” He still had his eyes closed. 

“Oh, really? Don’t worry Snow White, I’ll save you!” You give him a little peck, but his eyes stay closed. “Oh come onnnn, I gave you what you wanted.” You pout. 

“Nope, that was a peck, I want a kiss.”

“Ughhh, fineee. This time you actually gave him a kiss. A real kiss. This time he opens his beautiful eyes. You punch the air in victory. 

“Hey you. What are you doing here? Shocking to see you hanging out here. You know, on my lips. If you don’t watch out, I might end up falling in love with you.” Judah makes the suggestion sound like the worst thing on the Earth, but you simply shrug it off. 

“So what if you fall in love with me? Are you suggesting you aren’t right now?” You accuse, playfully.

   “No, unfortunately for you, I already am.” He said, with a pleased look. 

“Oh? And what’s so wrong about that? Why am I in any sort of danger from this?” You challenged. 

“Mmm. I never said there was something wrong with it. I just said poor you for having to be stuck with me. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I mean I love myself, but I sure can be an annoying piece of crap.” Judah chuckled. 

“Oh shush! No you’re not. You are the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. If they weren’t such assholes, I would even thank Jace and Noah.” You and Judah laughed. 

“No please, don’t do that to yourself.” Judah said, causing you and Judah to laugh even harder.

“Well enough of, well, them. I think I’d rather spend the morning in your arms instead.” You jumped back into Judah’s arms

“I think I could take a liking to this new found hobby of yours.” He said while rocking you in his arms. 

“I can too. What do you have to do today?” You asked him. 

“Mmm, I think I could use a trip to the pool, wanna come?” You jumped at the chance at getting in the hot tub again.

“Can we? I mean, how are we even gonna get in, to begin with?” You questioned. 

“Hey, Ronnie’s brother practically lives at the school, I just text him five minutes before we get there and bam. We’re in.” You were shocked at how strong Judah’s relationship with Ronnie’s older brother was. 

“Well if you’re sure we’re in, then yes, I can go.” You get your head comfortable on his chest. “But for now,  I think I want to lay here with you for a while.” 

“You know, the last time I remembered feeling like this, this warm, fuzzy and safe feeling, the last time I remember feeling like this was when my family would go swimming out by the beach.” You could feel his face turn somber, even though you couldn’t directly see his face. 

“You must really miss them, huh? Your mother and father. Your home. I bet you miss it all.” You didn’t want to get up, so you didn’t but you could feel his face twist with agreement. 

“Y-yeah, I-” He took in a shaky breath. “I do. I miss them a lot. But right now you sooth my loneliness quite well. Besides, soon I’ll be back at home. With my mother, my father and I- I’d like to take you with me. If you want, of course.” Judah said defensively.

“You’d like for me to go with you? To your home?” You jolted away from his grasp in shock.

“Uh well yeah. I want you to meet my parents. Well at the very least my mother. My father is a busy man, but I’m sure he’d want to meet you eventually- are you ok?” He was concerned about your reddened face. 

“Y-yeah, I-I’m fine… Meet your parents?” your eye started to twitch. 

“Well yeah. I mean I’ve told my mother about you and she said she already wants to meet you. Oh don’t be nervous. I’m sure she’ll love you.” Judah reassured you. 

“You know what, fine, it’s ok. It’ll all be fine, besides that’ll be in a while anyways. Yeah alright. I’ll go.” You said, the initial shock still not wearing out. You were very nervous about potentially meeting his parents, but also excited. You were concerned about how they would see you. Were they going to forbid this relationship if they didn’t like you? 

In the end it was all things that would come later. For now you would just lay in the safety and comfort of Judah’s warm embrace, while falling asleep to the sound of him humming. 

Sorry y'all, my Covid test came out positive and I felt really bad for a couple of days, I started this one a while ago but I completely forgot about it because of my illness.
