You kept your eyes closed, taking in the warm glow of the sunlight. Sure, Soren would have to close that hole on the cave ceiling soon, unless you wanted to get drenched in rain when a rainstorm eventually came, but for now you figured you could enjoy the feeling of the outside world waking up. And it did make great for gazing at the moon. But there was another reason why you were so adamant to keep your eyes closed. Because you knew that when you did open them, you'd be met with nothing but empty space besides you.

You weren't exactly sure where Soren had ventured off to this time, if he had ventured off. He might be in the kitchen or running an errand for all you knew. It was the silence in the cave that you dreaded. Not waking up to his sweet hums, or his angelic voice, but most of all, it was not knowing if he was there, peacefully admiring your sleeping face, or if he was even home. The one thing you did know was that he was not lying next to you, and that was a reality you did not want to come to terms with.. so to avoid all conflict you just kept your eyes closed.

However there is only so much one can do before the need to wake up becomes unbearable. You opened your eyes, and felt yourself sink deeper into the bed. Of course he wasn't there.. Why would you even hope he would be? His arms weren't around you. Your wings weren't holding him in an embrace. Your lips weren't on his-

No.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" You hit your forehead with your palm, cursing yourself for thinking such.. undignifying thoughts. Especially not when you were set to be married.

Set to be married.. You chuckled at the thought. You? Married? To that librarian avian of all people? Ha! No way. Maybe you might consider the idea of marriage if it were with someone like Soren-

Soren.. Soren.. Soren..

Soren.

Why were you thinking of him so much? Why did you feel so warm inside every time you heard his voice.. Everytime he laughed, or chuckled, or teased you. Why could you feel your heart skip a beat every time he brushed near you by accident, or everytime he was close to you in general. Why was his presence so.. calming?

Is this.. love?

No, that's ridiculous! There's no way you could be in love with Soren... Or could there? There was no way you would know, after all you had never been in love before. You had only ever felt what you were told was love, when your parents tried to tell you that you loved Chorus, and as soon as you met him everything would make sense.

But would it really make sense? Was- was there any chance he could love you too? Soren wasn't very blaiten with his emotions, if anything he would joke around just to mask his emotions. And he really hadn't been around any one for about 90 years, so it was really anyone's say at this point.

"Dove? Are you awake?" You jumped at the sound of Soren's voice.

"Uhh, yeah! Still in bed!" You yelled back.

"Still up here, huh? I could've sworn we went to sleep early,I mean it is pretty late." Soren pointed out.

"Oh, hush. I uhh- I have insomnia. Yeah." It wasn't a complete lie, more like a half- truth.

"Mhmm.. Yeah, well you seemed to doze off pretty comfortably in my arms last night. I even struggled to get you off me this morning." You felt heat rush to your face at the mention of last night's events.

"Umm, so where were you, huh?" You quickly changed the subject.

"Mmm~ maybe if you behave, I'll show you." He winked, making your blush even more evident. "Now, what do you want for breakfast, Dove?"

"Soren.. H-have you ever been in love?" You asked out of the blue, breaking the silence at the table after breakfast was done.
