"Wait a second, Varun, did you think I forgot about the pictures that were all over the newspapers a while back?" Ranveer smirked at Varun making everyone chuckle except Alia who lowered her face down to cover her heating up cheeks with her hair.

"Oh, shut up. The pictures were very normal, there's nothing to by shy about Alia." Varun turned to look at his girlfriend, holding her hand with his under the table, "Aksi, wouldn't you have done the same thing if Deepika slept while you guys were out somewhere?"

"Of course I would, Deepika's my fiancée. But you guys are friends!" Ranveer deadpanned.

"Who said so?" Varun threw back shutting everyone around the table up as they all looked at him, the parents curiously and his friends nervously.

"What do you mean son?" Madhuri asked him as Alia started squeezing his hand that was still holding hers to make him stop what she was sure he was about to do.

"I mean-" Before Varun could finish, Alia leaned down to whisper in his ear.

"Varun, I don't think this is the right time!" She said.

"Listen babe, sooner or later they'll know. And I think it's better if it's sooner so that we can behave however we like for the next 2 weeks. We won't have to do everything secretly." Varun whispered back, reasoning with her.

"But what if they don't react to the news as we want them to, or even worse, what if they don't want us to be together?" Alia asked, worried, still whispering.

"No-" Varun started to say before he was cut-off yet again, but this time by his mom.

"Varun, honey, what are you whispering about? Tell us what's going on!" Madhuri said, impatient.

"Varun, you don't say anything, I will." Katrina held her hand up to stop her twin before she turned to her parents, "What he meant earlier was that him and Alia are dating, that's all there is."

"Really?!" Deepika turned to look at her brother for confirmation to which he nodded, "Oh, I'm so happy for you guys!" She jumped up from her seat and run to the couple to hug them both from behind their chairs.

"We're happy for you kids." Both their mothers smiled at them.

Everyone smiled and congratulated them and told them how good they looked together, before they turned to both fathers who hadn't said anything yet.

"I know that there's no better man for my daughter to be with, or anyone who can make her happier. So I hope you won't disappoint me because I trust you Varun, and I hope you guys are serious about this." Saif smiled at them.

"Of course, uncle." Varun nodded.

"Dad, of course we're very serious about our relationship. Plus, don't talk to him like that, you're going to scare him away." Alia chuckled.

"I'm happy for you both." Salman said before getting up and walking away.

"I see some development!" Deepika spoke up.

"There's no such thing. And even if he tries to talk to me, I don't want to. I don't even care at this point." Varun shrugged.

"Beta, don't say that. Just like you and your sister solved things out. Sooner or later you'll have to sit down with you father and talk things through." Madhuri told her son.

"Okay mom, don't stress him." Katrina turned to look at her mother who just nodded in response.

"You baby!" Ranveer turned to look at Varun, a teasing smile on his face, "So the media and paparazzi weren't lying and everything they wrote that day on the newspapers was true. Huh?"
