Lucinda

When I was younger, my dreams consisted of being a superhero.

At the time, my parents were already well-known "heroes" in Lucella. I was living in their shadow while Rose started taking baby steps out of it. I had always wanted to help others the way my family did. I would horribly draw myself in a dark superhero costume in the shadows. "Lotus" was my fictional hero name if I remembered correctly. I wanted to help people anonymously, but I still had no clue why. I had merely brushed those thoughts aside.

When Pony and I found ourselves hidden in the trees in front of what seemed to be an oil refinery, I knew that it wasn't going to be easy. I had no clue what Willow's intentions with Zizzy were, but I definitely knew that she wasn't going to let us waltz inside and take her back. She wanted to play with us, and not in a good way. Pony had his hand on a tree while the other was limp at his side. I tapped my foot and crossed my arms.

"So, this is where they took Zizzy," I said before turning to Pony. "Have you been here before?" I assumed that if Pony was a former member of The Silver Paw, then he had to know something about this place. Pony bit his lip before shaking his head. "No... I don't recognize this place at all," he replied, much to my dismay. He then turned to me and nodded. "Either way, we can do this." I nodded back at my elder before letting my hands fall to my sides.

I made the first move, advancing slowly and hiding behind trees, and scanning the perimeter to see if anyone was watching or following us. I gestured Pony over once I confirmed that we weren't being followed. As we got closer, I noticed a chain-link fence surrounding the refinery. "Of course..." I thought to myself, annoyed at the sight before me. There were a few street lamps and cars along with four benches on either corner of the area.

I turned to the two benches that were on the opposite side of the refinery and closer to the hill. On the left bench sat a shiny pair of scissors. Leaving Pony in front of the refinery, I walked over to the bench and picked up the scissors. Turning back to the fence, I quickly realized what I was supposed to do. I quickly walked over to the fence and started cutting the wires. After a few minutes, I took off the big piece I cut and tossed it aside. I was about to walk in, but Pony's voice stopped me.

"Be careful, Cindy!" He called out. "They must have guards everywhere in there." I turned to Pony with a blank expression. "Guards, huh?" I asked, not expecting an answer. I turned back around and pulled out the rose gold gun from my belt. "I don't mind a challenge." In silence, I walked through the hole I had made before scanning the area. There were more cars inside, along with a few benches and another fence.

I went to the other fenced barrier before cutting a hole in it, too. I had no clue why I did it, so I told myself that it was so that I didn't have to do it later. I tossed yet another part of the fence aside and walked through. Inside were a bunch of machines. I could only guess that they had something to do with oil. There was a bench on the opposite side of the area that had a green key on it. I facepalmed with one hand as the other went to my hip. Shortly after, I let out an annoyed groan.

"I'm going to kill this wolf, I swear!" I screamed in my head as I yanked the green key off of the bench. I stomped to the door with the green lock, already knowing what was coming. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Pony making his way to where I was. His expression seemed just as serious and as determined as I was. I knew that Pony and Zizzy were really close when they were younger, so he was desperate to save her.
