⚠️TW!! PANIC ATTACK + KNIFE!!⚠️
Lucinda
Why was my life like this?
I slid down the railing of the stairs as I asked myself that question. I'd be a millionaire if I had a dollar for everytime I asked myself that question. With the green key tight in my hand, I got off of the railing and ran to the door on the second to last floor. I had found it in a closet and remembered that Pony's room at a green lock on it. Unfortunately, that stupid rat found me, and I had to show it a lesson. That didn't mean that it didn't get back up though. I'd give it an A+ for perseverance if I could.
Eventually, I found myself standing infront of the door to Pony's room. I quickly unlocked the green lock before kicking the door open. Luckily, Pony was alright. He was sitting on his bed, playing with his hands and staring at his knees. His head snapped to me, and a caught a glimpse of his dark green eyes and the dark circles below. I could tell that he forced himself to smile as he got up from his bed and walked towards me. He had been like this ever since we left the refinery.
"Cindy...!" Pony said, stopping infront of me and bending down to put a hand on my shoulder. "I owe you a carrot sometime... Is everyone okay?" I turned to the open door. "Giraffy and Georgie are okay," My raspy voice replied. "Mimi is on the other side of a fire, and I haven't seen Zee or Zuzy around." Pony bit his lip before nodding, silently telling me that he understood and assessed the situation. He stood up from his position and took his hand off of my shoulder.
"Come on, Cindy. Help me check on the twins," he stated firmly. I nodded and quickly followed him out of the hall and out of the door leading to the main room. Pony was about to run up the stairs, but the cyborg was in his path. I was a few steps behind him. I groaned and rolled my eye annoyingly before turning to Pony's back. "Out of my way," I demanded under my breath. I walked up the stairs and gently shoved Pony aside before breaking into a sprint towards the rat.
I zoned out before I jumped and tackled the rat. Both of us went tumbling down the stairs on the other side. I quickly got up and off of the rat before forcing it up by its ripped shirt. I then dragged it to the next flight of stairs and tossed it down. My body moved on its own as I quickly ran back up the stairs. "Come on!" I yelled to Pony, who nervously followed me. We ran through the door on the top floor, and Pony quickly rushed to the twins' room. I quickly followed, and my heart dropped.
They weren't there.
"Huh...Zee and Zuzy aren't here," Pony pointed out a bit too late. He then gestured to the closed vent that was right above their beds. "They must've used the vent up there, but it's sealed now. I hope they're safe..." I knew that Zizzy would've been furious to hear those words. Her sisters were missing, and that was all he had to say? As if he knew what he was thinking, Pony suddenly collapsed down to his knees, his hands grasping at the light pink carpet below. It didn't take me long to realize that he was having a panic attack.
I instantly knew what it was about.
____________
Pony fell down to his knees as soon as we were out of the refinery.
As expected, he was crying. I didn't blame him. Pony and Zizzy were so close to one another. Perhaps their friendship could've turned into something more if they had just had enough time. I forced myself to stop walking down the path and turned to my now sobbing friend. His hands grabbed the dirt below as I noticed wet tears fall from his eyes. I let out a sigh as I started walking toward him, stopping a few inches away before sitting down on my knees.
