⚠️TW!! EXTREME BLOOD AND GORE!!⚠️

Lucinda

"Where does that exit go?"

"I have no clue."

After unlocking the red door, the three of us found a second sewer entrance on the ceiling above us. Unfortunately, it was locked with piece of metal that had a white key and a screwdriver. While we did have the white key, we still had yet to find the screwdriver a second time. "I'm going to assume that it goes outside of the factory," I muttered under my breath. By the looks on the zebras' faces, I knew that this wasn't where they came in from, and if it was, how did everything get locked so fast?

Zee went up to the door and used the white key on it. She tossed it aside, leaving the screwdriver in its place. Suddenly, we heard a loud and angry roar echo across the sewers. I bit my lip as my fists clenched. I had no idea where the alligator was, but based on the way he sounded, it was easy to tell that he was angry. It didn't take a genius to know that. People might call me crazy, but I couldn't blame him for feeling angry.

Three adolescent girls had broken into the sewers and had avoided him for more than ten minutes. Anyone would've been angry to be outsmarted by them. However, two of them had a fencer for an older sister, while the third had Lucella's best detective for one. That meant that tons of rigorous exercise and training was involved. I turned to the two zebras with a sigh and a shake of my head. I was done playing games.

"We need to get that screwdriver as soon as possible," I said to them. "That stupid alligator has a temper, and it's about to hit its breaking point." Zee and Zuzy nodded in agreement before the three of us went out the door. The last time we had used the screwdriver was for the panels in the engine rooms. There had been a lot of tool uses and a lot of running around all over the place since then. I was completely fine, but the two sisters were starting to get tired.

Once we were back in the engine room that had that stupid classroom at the bottom of its stairs, I grabbed the screwdriver from the shelf on my right and walked back to the twins, who were standing by the wall infront of where I stopped. I was about to tell them to go when a loud growl reached my ears. I snapped my head to the left and noticed a shadow from the door. The alligator had found us. I bit my lip and narrowed my eye.

I turned to Zuzy before taking her hand and putting the red screwdriver in it. "Take the screwdriver and your sister and go to the ladder, now," I ordered under my breath. I knew Zuzy wanted to protest, but after giving her a look, she hesitantly nodded, took Zee's hand and ran out through the door on the other side. I sighed and turned to the door where the alligator was just beginning to come in from. It reminded me a lot of the movies I used to watch with Rose.

A few seconds passed, but each one felt like a decade. He was staring down at me, and I stared right back up at him while matching his energy. The alligator was already bloody and bruised after what I had done to him before. I had done similar things multiple times throughout the infection. However, after losing Zizzy, none of that mattered. The only thing that mattered to me was myself and the ones I cared about staying alive.

With another loud roar, the alligator came charging towards me, and I was ready.

He swung his pipe down with the intent to hit my head. However, before he had the chance to do so, I grabbed the pipe tightly in both of my hands, securing my grip on it. The alligator seemed to be about twice my height, meaning that he was heavy. If I did my usual trick of throwing him over my shoulder, I would also go down, and there were stairs behind us. However, I secretly taught myself how to do back handsprings down an inclined surface.
