Lucinda

"Blue, red, blue, yellow... Oh, there we go."

As soon as I finished putting the color combination on the strange panel beside the door leading into the shipping container, the door opened, revealing barrels of fuel sitting inside. I walked passed Willow, who was standing beside me, and into the container. I found it odd how there was a small light illuminating the area. I went towards the back of the container between two barrels while the wolf stood with her back facing the door.

"So, this is all the fuel that's left?" Willow asked with her arms crossed. "There's barely anything." After looking around, I realized that Willow had a point. There weren't many barrels inside of the container, probably less than ten. "It should be just enough for us to get across the sea," I reassured her despite the fact that I wasn't sure myself. Willow only scoffed and rolled her eyes before turning them to me and darkening them.

"If it gets you to shut up, I'm all for it," she growled through her teeth. I stared right back at her, matching her energy. I was foolish to think that she would get her head back in the game after learning of my sister's death. I only crossed my arms and leaned against the wall of the container, but I managed to see the kangaroo walking towards Willow. "Willow, behind you!" I yelled to her before she turned around. Unfortunately, the kangaroo had shut the door of the container, locking us inside. What kind of witchcraft did the infected have?

"No, no, NO!" Willow screamed angrily as she banged on the door. After a bit, she let out an angry sigh while keeping her back towards me. "Great. Fantastic. Now I'm trapped in here with you," Willow complained. It almost felt like she was shoving the fact that she hated me in my face. Despite all of that, I tried my best to stay positive. "That's not possible," I said while shaking my head. "I'm sure we can get it open." I was anything but sure.

Willow finally decided to turn around. "We've got nothing but barrels to get out of here, kid," she replied harshly while gesturing to said barrels with both of her hands. Knowing that Willow had a good point, I let out a sigh before turning around and climbing onto one of the barrels in order to rest my feet from all the running. "Well, since we're trapped, I guess we're gonna need to learn to get to know each other," I suggested, resting my hands on my lap.

Willow scoffed at my offer. I had to admit, it was kind of stupid and corny. "I'd rather get to know a sewer gator than the sister of that dirty cop," she responded. My eye narrowed at the wolf as I felt my fists start to clench. I was done hearing Willow talk all this nonsense about my sister. "Don't you ever talk about Rose like that!" I exclaimed, raising my voice. "She was just following orders, Willow. She was doing her job!"

Willow seemed to get angrier at my raised tone. "So was I! I was protecting my family!" She refuted. What she said made me tilt my head in confusion. I was in the vents above Willow, Rose and Doggy, and as far as I knew, the former was the only criminal in the room. Sure, there were other sleeping bags, but they had just been sitting there and collecting dust for who knows how long. "There was nobody in your room when Rose and Doggy searched it," I reminded Willow.

"Because your family of cops took my parents away already! I haven't seen them for over a decade!" Willow screamed at me before calming down. "Now tell me... where are they?" I bit my lip and turned my gaze to my feet before beginning to kick them. "I know your family tells you everything, Lucinda. If they don't, you find out for yourself," Willow added, still expecting an answer. After a few moments of nothing but silence, I sighed again and finally gave Willow an answer.

"I've snooped around their offices nearly ten times, Willow," I answered. "They didn't have their records on them." Willow's eyes darkened at me, and I felt a shiver go down my spine. Somehow, I knew that she knew that I was telling the truth. Rose must've told her about how I was the worst liar on the planet. Eventually, she turned around to face the door again. "You're right, because your just another cog in a big machine," Willow muttered loud enough for me to hear. "That's all you'll ever be, kid."
