"We found a way into the lab! I'll catch up with you guys soon."

Mimi and Georgie were happy to hear the news from Pony and walked by us, but Zee and Zuzy seemed to be trembling the slightest bit. Then it hit me. The high altitude we were at plus the snowstorm made it all the more colder than it already was. I, despite feeling the cold, was fine thanks to my trench coat and scarf. If I took them off, I would only be left with my button up and tank top. I let out a sigh before walking over to the zebra sisters and removing my rucksack, which went on the ground shortly after.

The sisters looked at me in confusion as I removed my trench coat and my scarf before giving both clothing articles to them. "Here. This'll keep you warm," I breathed, trying my best to ignore the cold hitting my arms immediately. Zuzy seemed shocked at my actions, but she took them regardless. "But Cindy... you'll be cold," she tried to protest, but I shook my head lightly before taking off their older sister's hat. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine," I reassured her while handing her the hat. Hesitantly, Zuzy nodded before putting on the trench coat, giving the scarf and hat to Zee.

"Take care of them, okay? They mean a lot to the both of us."

"I will. I promise."

With that, I nodded before they turned around to follow Mimi and Georgie. I was about to join them, but I felt someone grab my arm lightly. When I turned around, I realized that it was Pony. "Kiddo..." he began, his lip quivering and his eyes staring deep into my small figure. "...can I.... can I talk to you for a moment?" I furrowed my eyebrows at my elder before hesitantly nodding my head. "Sure," I accepted as he pulled me aside and underneath a tree. "What's up?"

Silence filled the atmosphere for a few moments after. I assumed that Pony was just trying to put his words together. I could sympathize with him on that matter. "Well..." he started before letting out a tired sigh. "Willow's right, Cindy. There's something I should tell you." I tried my best to ignore the shivering of my body as I watched Pony lower his head in what looked to be shame. "At the carnival, I thought you were infected because... well..." I tilted my head in confusion as I began to rub my arms in an attempt to warm them up.

"...I gave you the potion."

I immediately stopped.

My arms, along with my heart inside my chest, dropped. My mouth parted the slightest bit as my sole eye widened. Time seemed to stop the second Pony finished that sentence. It was all coming together. The throbbing headaches, my sudden boosts in strength and speed, the voices, the hallucinations, the weird feeling of something inside me that shouldn't be there, the pain I went through, the changes I forced myself to make, the feelings I had to bottle up...

"...there's minimal symptoms of the infection in your body."

"You have to be prepared for Cindy's reaction. I think you and I have a feeling of what it will be."

"Speaking of your family, have you told Cindy what you've done?"

...it was all him.

"In the forest... that was you?" I asked, my voice getting angrier and slightly louder. As much as I wanted for his statement to be false, I knew that he wouldn't lie to me about something like that. It wasn't anything to be joked around with. Pony opened his eyes to look at me, but he kept his head lowered. "Good. He should feel ashamed of himself," One part of my mind thought. "There has to be more to the story," Another part protested. Pony's light nod was all it took for the rope that kept me together to finally snap.
