This ship had nothing but suspicions written all over it.
The artic fox had half of its face ripped off, and there was blood all over his body. How on earth was he not dead? The infected crew member chased me down the halls as I tried my best to keep the same distance between him and I. Willow was probably off putting that other infected person beneath her feet. I bumped my shoulder against the wall and turned to run into the storage room. I had to get down to where that stupid water pit was.
It would be too risky to go down the stairs closer to me, so I ran around the metal shelves to get to the other stairwell. As soon as I was close enough, I grabbed the railing with my free hand and used it to launch myself over the railing. I landed on my feet closer to the foot of the stairs before running down the remaining steps. I ran to my left into the cafeteria and nearly hit the chairs and tables as I went for the stairs on the corner of the room.
I jumped over the railing and landed at the foot of the stairs a second time, and I soon found myself in the room where that stupid flood was. "All of this 'finding keys and running from the infected' business is starting to get repetitive," I thought to myself as I listened closely to the footsteps coming from above. I ran to the other side of the railing and noticed what seemed to be loose screws on the walls. It was too dark, so I could barely make out what it was, even with my good one-eyed vision.
Since I had the screwdriver in my hand, I decided to tighten the screws so that I didn't forget to do so later. There were four screws lining the walls in total. That was probably more than what I was used to. As I tightened the final screw, the sound of crashing water filled my ears. I let out a gasp and turned around before realizing that the sound came from the other side of the railing. I slowly walked over to it and put my hands on the metal before peeking downwards.
The water was starting to drain from the lower level. "Oh, finally..." I muttered under my breath as I eyed and went towards the stairs going downwards on the other side of the room. Luckily, the fox wasn't following me around anymore, so I had all the time in the world to get that fuel. I decided that I would let Willow have her fun with the infected in the levels above me as I went down the stairs. Everything down here was definitely wet, much to my dismay.
I was in what seemed to be some sort of engine room. I could only hope that those engines were waterproof. There were tons of shelves that had water dripping from the edges. After exploring the room for a bit, I noticed a green key sitting on a shelf underneath the stairs. I was relieved and went over to grab it, but then I remembered where the green-locked door was: all the way at the top of the ship. I let out a groan as I swiped the key from its place on the shelf, not caring if I got wet.
I noticed a door with a red lock on the other end of the room, so I made a mental note to come back down once I had a red key. I went up two stairwells until I reached the cafeteria and was about to go up the third when I noticed not just the artic fox, but the kangaroo aswell. I quickly turned around and backed away from the stairs before I turned around and went for the other stairs. As soon as I was in the storage room, I noticed Willow standing at the top of the other stairwell. She seemed to be finding amusement in kicking the infected down the stairs.
I shook my head at her before leaving the storage room. I ran down the hall until I reached what I chose to call the "four-way intersection" of this place. I carefully stepped over the bear trap that was in the center and soon found myself standing infront of the green-locked door. Once I unlocked it and pushed the door open, a loud and exaggerated sigh escaped my lips. I could only stare at what sat on the other side of the door with a blank expression.
