Lucinda
"Wow, someone was definitely worried."
"Be quiet, Zuzy!"
I kept my head rested on Georgie's shoulder while the rest of my body laid limp against him. My best friend had his arms wrapped around my frail figure, causing Zuzy to start teasing him again. When I first snapped out of TIO's realm, the first thing I did was break down into a sobbing mess. Everything that happened between Rose's death and TIO's manipulative antics must've finally crashed down on me after being bottled up for so long.
I put my hands on Georgie's shoulders and gently pushed him away, keeping him at an arm's distance. "I'm fine, G, really," I reassured him while wiping my leftover tears with my shoulder. "Everything that's happened, and everything that I've done... it just came crashing down on me. That's all." Georgie nodded hesitantly as I took my hands off of his shoulders and lowered them down to my sides. Speaking of shoulders, mine felt significantly lighter. The heavy burden I had been forced to carry was finally gone now.
I loved that feeling more than I realized.
"Well, that should do it! Well done everyone!" The sergeant from earlier congratulated before turning to me with his arms still crossed. "Now, let's have a look at that cure, shall we?" The thought of the cure tucked safely inside of my rucksack hadn't been in my mind until the mole mentioned it. I lightly nodded at him before reaching my hand into my rucksack from behind and rummaging around it. Then, I felt my fingers brush against cold glass, and I knew that the cure was in my grasp. I carefully took it out before walking towards the sergeant and placing it in his hands. "Thank you, honey," he said to me shortly after.
I nodded at him with a small smile before I felt a hand on my shoulder, and when I turned around, I saw Pony next to me with Georgie behind him. "Thank you for helping us out there, Cindy," he spoke to me in a soft tone. "He's brought me in places like that before, but he's never been that aggressive..." After what I had seen thanks to him, it was safe to say that TIO had been trying to get rid of us for a really long time, and it was only now that he finally snapped and tackled us head-on.
"Yeah," Georgie added with a nod. "My sister... He got what was coming to him." I could agree with that statement. What I saw back there... it had to be TIO's final attempt at taking me down with him. That wasn't Rose apologizing to me. It was a fabrication of her that he made. It had to be, regardless of the fact that it felt so real. Either way, it was all in the past now. I could finally forget about it and try my hardest to resume a normal life. "I'm happy to have helped," I replied with my hands clasped in front of me. "None of you deserved to go through that."
"Tigry, I need to talk to you," I heard Willow say from behind me. "I'm... sorry for what I've done. Which is... quite a lot, if I'm being honest." No way. I had to be dreaming. It was finally happening. It took everything I had in me to restrain myself from turning around to get a better understanding of the situation occurring behind me. "Yeah, no kidding," Tigry replied. "You hurt me, Willow." That was a statement I could agree with.
"I got so caught up in getting revenge, I wasn't thinking about the things I was saying and doing to those close to me," Willow finally realized. I didn't even want to think about how long it took for her to get a backbone and figure out that she was in the wrong in so many ways, from the harsh words she spat at Rose, to her futile attempt at strangling me. I was happy that the wolf was starting to see the truth of her actions, and the cost that came with them.
