⚠️TW!! TASERS!!⚠️

Lucinda

I was really starting to question whether I had made a mistake or not.

Hiding from two officers trying to find a wanted criminal while trying to avoid a violent raccoon while also avoiding said raccoon was starting to be tougher than I thought. Luckily, I managed to find refuge in a hidden corner of the alleys. I was out of breath. My arms and legs were shaking, my head was leaned back, practically pressed against the wall behind me, and I was panting heavily. "Man..." I muttered, "...I definitely burned at least a hundred calories..."

Once I was sure that my system was back to its normal pace, I sat up properly before looking around. I had no one but myself to keep me company. I let out a sigh before standing up and making my way to a wall. I had to make sure that I wasn't being watched, followed, or at risk of being seen. Fortunately, the coast was clear, so I slowly creeped my way out of my hiding spot and back into the alleys. The silence sent shivers down my spine.

I managed to get a good portion of things done while avoiding Rose and Doggy and keeping my encounters with Rash to a minimum. I should be an escape room expert after all of this. I had found a yellow key earlier and was about to go back to the laundromat, but the three people I was trying to avoid were there. Out of panic, I quickly and quietly bolted out of there, my heart pounding in my chest. That was how I found myself in a corner of the alleys.

"They should be gone by now," I reassured myself, "I just need to go to the laundromat..." With that thought deep in my head, I snuck around until I reached the laundromat once more. Once I found the yellow vault in the storage room, I opened it only to find a red screwdriver inside. I then remembered the metal door that was screwed shut before taking the screwdriver out of the vault. With said item in hand, I made my way back to the main door.

I was horrible with screwdrivers and other tools, and I wasn't ashamed to admit it. Dad never let me near tools since I was a bit clumsy. However, said tools mostly consisted of things such as saws and drills. "Come on," I struggled as I tried to remove the flathead with the screwdriver, "Get off!" After basically going to war with the flathead, it finally came off. As, I fell to the ground along with the screw, and I tried my best to hold back a scream.

I groaned in pain as I rubbed my head. I quickly jumped up to my feet and opened the metal door to see what awaited me on the other side. I smiled once I saw a second number on the wall. I had already found the last number, which had been four. The middle one was six. I went over to the three number panels and focused my attention on the middle one. I pressed the green button until the number on the screen reached six.

Suddenly, the door on the other side opened.

I flinched before my brain went into autopilot mode. My legs carried me to the room I was just in and hid me in a corner by the door. I looked over to the vent hole to see my sister's feet run at the speed of light passed me. "Nine isn't my lucky number for nothing!" She cheered. I had to hold back a giggle. She would always say that every number was her lucky number. I quietly creeped out of the door before peeking out from the corner.

Rose put in the number in the remaining panel before pushing the door open, nearly falling in the process of doing so. Then, it seemed like everything just stopped moving as a gasp escaped Rose's lips. I moved my head to get a better look at what was inside, and I found myself getting confused. "Black jacket, purple shirt, black pants, black scarf," I thought to myself. Then it hit me. Three out of the four of those articles fit the description of the very person who broke my sister's heart a long time ago. The two of them only stared at each other.
