Lucinda
I definitely left my mark in this place.
The fact that I'd lived with three police officers for a good portion of my life didn't seem like a bad thing anymore. While I both hated and loved the fact that I was home alone constantly, my family and friends taught me all types of self defense. The skills I learned most definitely came in handy, especially now that I was on a rescue mission. Said mission was extremely close to being done. After wandering around the refinery for a few minutes, I found the green keycard sitting on a shelf by the side entrance.
I was kind of annoyed at the fact that one of the most important items I had been looking for was right at the start. Earlier, I had practically flipped everything in this place over trying to search for that blasted keycard. When I passed the entrance and saw that the keycard had been sitting there all along, I nearly screamed out loud in rage. I managed to hold myself back and thankfully settled for an internal scream. I didn't want Pony to worry about me being alive or not.
I was muttering incoherently under my breath as I stomped to the cafeteria. None of the others seemed to bother me when I passed, much to my relief. If they would've gotten in my way while I was in somewhat of a bad mood, I couldn't begin to imagine the things I would do. The only thing I knew was that blood was involved. However, from the previous times I had spilled blood, I wasn't sure that I'd be able to handle it again.
Eventually, I made it back to Pony through my angry muttering. "It turns out, the card was right at the start," I explained. "I flipped this place over for no reason." Pony tried his best to calm me down. "We're so close to her, Cindy," he reassured me. "Just a little more work, okay?" I sighed before nodding. I then gestured to the coyote infront of the cell door. "How are we going to get past that guard?" Pony thought about it for a few seconds before snapping his fingers.
"I've got it!" He quietly declared. "When you open the door, I'll put the car down. Once the guard goes into the room, you'll close the door and seal it shut. Got it?" I thought about how his plan would play out before turning to him. "Alright," I said before turning on my heel and going around the long way. Once I reached the door, Pony gave me the signal to open it, so I did, silently. Once the door was open, Pony put the car down and let it go into the room. I hid behind the door so the coyote guarding the cell wouldn't notice me.
The guard followed the car into the small room, and I took that as my cue to push the door shut. It was hard considering the fact that it was metal, but I managed. Once the door was shut entirely, I sealed it with the keycard. It was safe to say that I was surprised. "It...it actually worked? Huh..." I thought to myself as I turned around. The door to Zizzy's cell was sealed shut with a screw and a white lock. Of course. Only a fool would believe that they would be allowed to just waltz in.
I walked up to the cell door as Pony came up to me. "Well, that worked better than I thought it would. Great job, Cindy," he admitted before holding his clenched fist out and towards me. I only stared at his fist for a few moments before lifting my own and giving him a fist bump. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?" I asked, accepting the nod I got in return as my answer. Pony smiled at me, and a thought suddenly hit me.
Before the infection, Pony and I were on good terms. After he and Zizzy found me at the carnival, however, he grew distant. I had no clue why, but I was taught to always respect the boundaries of others. Besides, I also wanted him to tell me directly what was up when he was ready. I realized that after Willow came back into our lives and took Zizzy, we had grown closer. We had bonded over our anger towards Willow.
"I guess now we just need the screwdriver and the white key," I said. Pony nodded. "Sure looks like it." I let out a sigh before turning around and walking towards the open door that led to the cafeteria. We were so close to saving Zizzy. We only needed two more items, and one of them was basically next to us. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't proud of myself. My experience with escape rooms and other things of the sort practically skyrocketed.
